  1. Can you spell St.X? ARROGANT! By the way congratulations on your championships, but like I try to teach my kids, Act like you've been there before!
  2. Let's see, ND or UK, UK or ND, this is a no brainer ND all the way! Kelly will have them once again in a BCS Bowl sooner than UK ever begins to sniff one.
  3. With the alumni base, property and facilities at your disposal, there's no reason X shouldn't win multiple titles in all sports. It's larger than some small colleges. However the last time I checked, Trinity who's campus sits on a postage stamp and is half of X's age is doing quite well and it's seniors are ranked towards the top in ACT scores in this state. You can jump off your Higher than Almighty pedestal now TigerKat.
  4. Didn't mean anything negative by the comment. I wish I had the chance to see him this year as well but spent my Friday nights watching my son play. Good Luck Highlands and Congratulations on your #2 National ranking!
  5. He was a good High School player but outside of his name, is he really D1 material?
  6. It was really weird the other night not having a Friday night game to look forward to. The last four years flew by and our oldest son played his last game for the Rocks last weekend. It's going to be alot different for us next year not having a kid in the action. I can't wait to just sit back in my old seats at the top right corner of the visitors side and be a regular fan, at least until my 4th grader makes it to Trinity in 2014!
  7. All I can say is the kid started some varsity games for his team in Florida and was already being recruited by Florida as a Freshman.
  8. Kragthorpe moved to Tulsa on Sunday. Trinity will have a seldom used Senior QB in Fredrick next year however based on the last three weeks of practice this year, they were using a Freshman with the second team. I don't know the kids name but I am assuming he will be front runner.
  9. There were some awesome young men leading the program in 2004 just as there was in 2009. We just didn't have enough talent each of these years to overtake the Tigers. Next years Rocks will be even younger and has a very small Senior class. A number of inexperienced Juniors and Sophomores are going to have to grow up pretty quick especially at QB and on both lines. Hit the weight room hard boys, St.X will have another experienced Senior class with Brohm leading the way. It will be another exciting year as always.
  10. So you are saying he ultimately lost his job because he yanked the Prinicpals kid? Wow, I've heard it all now. That's a sad sad situation.
  11. Manual is the best job today in Jefferson County Public Schools. They draw kids from all over the county and they are even known as being the Free Catholic High School in Louisville. If they find a Coach like Coach J at Ballard that understands what T&X are doing to consistently build their programs, the skys the limit at Manual.
  12. Beanie, I had a senior on the team that started the regular season game. He sacrificed for the love of the team and took a position move his senior year to help the team. He played his heart out but by mid-season began to breakdown to injuries and wasn't making plays. Did he complain? Never! He continued to fight in practice and support his fellow teammates. In the end, our coaching staff put the kids in the positions they thought would help this team win the game even if that meant playing some kids both ways cutting my son out of significant playing time. As a dad, was I happy to see my sons playing time fade away as we approached the state game, absolutely not. But my son understands the concept of team and has no regrets. He leaves knowing that they won 3 state titles while he was in High School. He started special teams as a Sophomore and Junior and played alot of downs and has 2 rings to show for it and alot of great memories. For that, I will always be thankful for this past four years. Trinity FOREVER!
  13. Trust me, everyone in the stands couldn't understand what happened to Watson's playing time. He battled and played through injuries all season long and ultimately the coaches didn't think he could get it done. It was sad for a kid that gave everything for the team and even took a position change from tackle to guard for the sake of the team.
  14. Speculating on who would have won this year is senseless. However, Trinity seems to have difficulty scheduling regular season games each year out side of our district. Why don't you have your athletic director call Dennis Lampley at 502-895-6765 and see if they can work out a game or better yet a series starting with next season. Same goes for Highlands. This would be alot of fun.
  15. There's no secret that Beatty and Glaser don't like each other. On one side you have a coach that has grown up in Louisville and truely loves the school and everything it stands for with the kids. At the end of the day, he still wants to win and that's why he coaches. He tends to show his emotions a little differently. On the other side, you have a coach who might not be from here but fully understands the legacy he's inherited and helped to build. He's a tough love coach and not the most personable but in the end his methods of teaching winning and losing to 15-18 year olds is no less effective. Coach Beatty told me before the season that this team was going to be a challenge but he was excited about the challenge. You can critisize him all you want, but it is his job to put the team in the best position to win. This time around, he just didn't make all of the right choices. The kids he played on both sides of the ball were out of gas by the beginning of the second half and lost their effectiveness particularly on defense. Our lack of making substitutions on the defensive front kept us from staying fresh and allowed St.X to continue to run the clock. At the end of the game the result was the same as the first game. We just got beat by a better team. Again Congratulations to the Tigers. We'll be back!
  16. By the way congratulations to the Tigers and especially the Lourdes boys on the team. You proved you were the best this season. Savor the victory, you'll never forget it. For the Senior Rock's, it's a tough pill to swallow right now, but remember what you've achieved your four years. You're a great bunch of kids and have nothing to be ashamed of. Go Rocks!
  17. Sour grapes. The two best teams met in the semi's last year, T & X. What do you propose they do?
  18. Trinity scored on a gadget play, I just saw that as St.X doing it right back at us.
  19. I wouldn't worry about Brad, the pressure he has been living with this entire season is now off his shoulders and he's also 100% healthy. They will move back to Tulsa and resume friendships and probably go to the High School with old friends he went to grade school with.
  20. If my memory serves me,the X kicker missed one in the first match up. You don't need to worry about our kicker or punter. They both have gotten the job done.
  21. Will Stein lead the Rocks to an improbable title against another X team that was also their best team of the decade (they say this every year). Neither team gave up but that was a game of wanting it more in my opinion. It was a classic game in the rivalry.
