  1. All good points. My son was part of what most considered a down Trinity team last year and I have a nephew on this years X team and they are considered down for their expectations so it does happen for these programs as well. With the restructuring of the districts for the 2011 season, the public schools are not going to play Trinity or X for the forseable future. It would be nice to have the other Power House Catholic Schools in the state and possibly Highlands continue to schedule both of them.
  2. How does a Catholic School in the states second largest city not draw the talent within their city to be able to compete with the likes of Trinity or St.X? Please explain.
  3. He's a good one but not Travis Wright. I suspect he will be moved to receiver.
  4. Yeah, SK and Ryle really scare us. See previous State results.
  5. Trinity will beat either Ryle or SK by 30 or more. Write it down!
  6. 1980's Alumni "Happy Hour" gathering at Gerstles at 5:30. Go Rocks!
  7. I am going to go out on a limb and predict Trinity will win #20, 21 & 22 with this bunch.
  8. Ballard and Male are the class of the Public Schools. Too bad the KHSAA couldn't see fit to put Ballard in our district instead of Manual. Coach J has a well disciplined team and the difference from that team and other publics is you never saw them quit. I hope we can continue to play them down the road, if not in the regualr season, I hope we get them in the playoffs.
  9. Trinity's and St. X's future schedule will continue to be made up with Cincy and Indy teams. Better competition just makes them that much better. The gap will just continue to get wider.
  10. Back in my day, Ballard students came over to Trinity and painted our buse. Several students from Trinity returned the favor and painted the front of their school. There's never been much love between both schools.
  11. I still can't wrap by brain around the need for 6 classes. Those schools with one victory just can't wait to be beaten down even further in the first round. What a joke!
  12. Kids will be kids. Ballards student section was brutal on Brad Kragthorpe last year but that's part of the game.
  13. Coach J, I have been singing your praises for the past two years. I appreciate you having the stones to recognize the dedication and hard work Trinity has put into their program for over 40 years to reach the level they are today. I only hope that with the new district allignment, you will continue to schedule us. Good luck the rest of the season!
  14. All State championships are precious and all of these kids put in countless hours to win these championships. With that said, this is a Football message board. What do you expect to hear?
  15. The only reason they are even playing us is because they are currently in our district. We can say bye bye to them after this year. Only Ballard's coach has the stones to attempt to keep us on their schedule next year if the powers that be will allow him to. The publics are already refusing to play our Freshman and JV's and I am hearing that with the new allignment, the rest will sandbag us on the Varsity level as well.
  16. My senior season in 79, Eastern had us beat until the final minutes. We went down and scored on our final drive for the win. With such a strong youth football program in Middletown, you'd think they would have more talent to compete.
  17. Eastern and most JCPS will not play T or X if they don't have to next year. The only school that has a coach that gets it is coach J at Ballard. I hope we get to keep that rivalry going.
  18. Just another advantage Larry of being a large Private School. By the way, Eatern will not let T broadcast either this week. It's their biggest gate of the year.
  19. I'm surprised the Seneca coaches or administration allowed this to continue through the game. Very sad.
  20. And I actually thought about going out to this one tonight.
  21. Coach Beatty got a bad rap a few years ago because he kept his starters in during a blow out of Ballard. With that said, I think this is the reason for JV ball and is why Trinity plays so many Juniors on JV. These kids are all getting playing time one way or another if they have earned it.
  22. As a former player and father to a player that graduated last year, I can tell you there have always been approximately 100 kids on the Varsity level. Should all of those kids be out there? Heck no, but they put in the time and go through the drills daily because they want to be part of the team. During the 2007 season, there was even a kid who had never played football before come out for the team. He went through the entire season never seeing the field, but he was driven because all he wanted was a State Championship ring. He got one and 20 years from now, he can tell his kids he played on a State Championship team. Sure every kid would like to play, but equal playing time went out the door in the 5th grade and certainly the minute these kids signed on to play at Trinity. This is understood by the kids and is told to their parents at the very first parent meeting their Freshman year. If your friends felt like an empty uniform, I can assure you they could have chosen another sport to participate in at any time.:ohbrother:
  23. Trinity/Ballard was one of our biggest games back in the 70's when Redman was there. Most of us in St. Matthews consider them to be our biggest county school rival. Coach J has done a fine job in the short time he has been there and actually gets it when it comes to wanting to build a program like Trinity and X instead of complaining about them. I hope they are able to keep them on the schedule.
