  1. As mentioned, the Cards do not have the day off so their decision to pitch Wainwright is no brainer. Leake is scheduled for Sunday and he has an 8 inning shutout game in his only start versus the Cards this year so unless you are skipping Cingrani it doesn't make since to move Leake out of this series. I believe the current St Louis hitters have a .190 career average versus Cingrani so not too shabby. I am a fan of juggling the rotation the last two months of the season if you have ground to make up. I remember years ago Bobby Cox juggled his lineup in early August when the Reds were on their heals and Marty was bashing the idea. Well, we saw Maddox, Glavine and Avery and were swept essentially ending the race. Bottom line, Cueto will wear down at the pace of inning's he is throwing right now.
  2. I agree he and his assistants have done a great job. But, it doesn't hurt to have a Teegarden or Ganns for most of those years to take the bump.
  3. For the Reds to do anything this year they need Votto to be Votto. Right now he has 12 rbi so we won't be any worse than we are right now with someone else in his spot. If Votto can get it fixed and back in a month then maybe there will still be time to make a run as the whole league is average right now. The last time he went out, Ludwick and Frazier played out of their minds for six weeks so maybe someone will step up this time. I know the way Votto has been playing has been driving me nuts so I just the same have him out and get "right".
  4. I believe his name is Ryle Bridley. I thought he was a Frosh but he may very well be a Soph. I know he was at Kelly Elementary when my daughter was there and I watched him play basketball. Good athlete.
  5. I missed out yet again but like others, I am not mad and don't mind donating.
  6. Maybe they should of played Cooper and Cancelled Conner :lol2: That was for you Hellbird..
  7. I'm a Cooper fan and I really just like reading anymore for the humor in most threads.... But, there is no way Beechwood is scared of anyone and Hellbird knows this but is just frustrated by his coach not picking up games when others have cancelled plus the rain outs. I don't blame Beechwood for cancelling if the coach feels that is what he wants to do but there is no way I feel the "health" of the players are an issue when these same kids play nearly everyday of the week plus multiple double headers in their select summer season. Congrats to Beechwood on winning the all A and I'm sure all involved there deserve to have a day off to reflect on their accomplishment. Hopefully the weather stays good and Cooper can get some games in as I still would like to get out to see them play.
  8. I was one run off but I will take it. The 7th was a little downer on his outing after two quick outs he gives up grounder through the right side then one off his foot then the big double. It would of been nice to finish that clean inning off.
  9. Total toss up once again in the 33rd. Should be fun to see.
  10. If Bailey can pull one out of his rear tongiht then the Reds win 3 of 4. He is due to get on a roll like most of last year, imo. The excuse of being out some of Spring Training is now over. I think he steps up tonight with 8 inn and 2 ER..
  11. I haven't read throught he 9 pages but I just watched the video and feel for all parties involved. "Legally" the officer may be justified in what he did. It's a scenario that happened fast. There is no way she didn't know that an officer was shining a light in her face and she kept going. Now, imo, the officer "could" have let her just speed away. But, what happens if she drives down the road, most likely intoxicated as she was leaving a party and why else would she not stop, and then she crosses the line and runs into another car and kills an innocent person? Now you would have people saying the cop should have stopped her there at all cost. I have spoken to a couple of officers I know well and they both speak highly of Brockman as an officer and a person. Now, he has to live the rest of his life knowing that he killed a teenager, whether he was in the right or not. The family has to live with the fact they lost a teenage daughter for what they will feel is not justified. It's just horrible all the way around. We will never know what the girl was thinking but if I would to guess it would be she had a DUI already from last year and she was probably under the influence of something here and just panicked. The toxicology results will be interesting to see if this is true or not. Hopefully this will keep other kids safe by learning from an unfortunate incident.
  12. WOW....how do the district seedings stand to this point, or are they finalized?
  13. My son and I just returned from Arizona and were sitting a few rows up by first base side. It was scary seeing this is live action. It brought back memories when I was coaching first base and Tanner Norton smoked one into the pitchers head when he was 12 years old. The bats were the lively ones and I think the mound was about 54 feet. They had to have an ambulance come on the field to get the kid and luckily he was ok. Just a weird feeling seeing someone hit that hard in the head. Chapman was wild as heck. He not only walked four batters in this inning but he overthrew the catcher in the bullpen multiple times and hit the backstop when he was warming up before play began. Hopefully he comes back healthy and it doesn't affect him mentally.
  14. I think it's up to the kid. My two sons made their own schedules and one graduated with 12 hours and the other 15 hours. I think it has prepared them for the college workload without a doubt. I think both of them still enjoyed their Senior year playing sports, hanging with friends while still having all A's. It can be done by those that want to do it.
  15. For sure Ryle's team and Coopers team are different each year. All I meant was Cooper scored 8 runs last year where they were shutout the year before. Ryle scored 12 last year where they scored 1 the year before. I just know AJ is a clutch big-time athlete that can, and has, handled any pressure situation in all three sports he played. He's the same kid who hit a buzzer, leaning 3-pointer versus Conner to send the game to overtime on a game they won but had no reason winning. He's the kid who held a Ryle team to one run when he was on the mound when Ryle had a talented team including a D1 shortstop, etc.. All I was saying is I would have loved to have had AJ on the mound in a big game with lots of pressure as that was when the kid thrived. Of course, if I make this comment then people think I'm automatically "putting down" another kid and that's not the case. I'm looking forward to watching some games where the kids should be relaxed this year.
  16. There are physical mistakes and mental mistakes.
  17. If they were playing scared under Beiger then I hope they aren't going to college to play ball. I understand kids handle things differently but college coaches don't care about your feelings.
  18. I think UK handles the press pretty good with their size being a big help. Because they are at home in front of College Gameday crowd that is only loud a couple games a year, I say Uk wins 68-65. When they finish at Florida they will have a chance to lose by double digits as they are immature, I mean young.
  19. I will agree last years team underachived but it had a lot to do with Jared Blank playing the whole season with a broken wrist on his throwing arm that required surgery that he is still healing from and AJ Collins playing with a torn shoulder from football that required surgery after the season and prevented him from pitching or playing the OF the last few games. Nick Carr who was hotter than heck missed three weeks with a shoulder strain. I would of loved to have had AJ on the mound as one of the pitchers versus Ryle in the district game in which Cooper lost 12-8. The year before Ryle won 1-0 when AJ pitched. You never know how the game would turn out but I would bet a lot that AJ would not give up 8 runs. I hear the new coach didn't have Fall workouts or conditioning which Coach Beiger put a ton of time and effort in to strengthen the kids. If this is true, that is a shame. I hope the kids had the motivation to get better and work in their own. Good luck to the Jag's and I look forward to seeing some games!!
  20. I can't see the video either and I'm dying to see it because if the shot was good then that means Hellbird is wwwrrrrrooonnnngggg and I just don't think that's ever happened. JK Hellbird... sorry I missed this one as I had planned to come watch.
  21. I love the show and think Bishop will be fine in this role. Ziva was awesome though.
  22. I don't seem to see too many coaches willing to make a change like this after a player has made 71 starts at PG. First of all, congrats to coach Sully for having make this decision if he thinks it is best for the team. It shows great leadership and shows kids nothing is ever given to you, that you must continue to earn your position. I'm sure it's not an easy decision for him. Second, congrats to Aaron for being a team player and while he may not like the decision, if he is indeed accepting his new role, he may help this team reach their goals. I haven't seen the Jag's much this year but I can see where the need more scoring than defense at this point.
  23. Congrats to Aaron. My son really enjoys the school and they have a very good football program.
