  1. Minor, but I would swap Boone and Conner since Boone just beat them.
  2. After Cooper went up by 20 or so, coach Sullivan started using the whole bench (which is good). Conner players never quit and cut it to 9 with just under a minute to go in game. The game was never in doubt but Cooper got lazy with the ball late in the game and Conner cut it down to single digits. A good lesson for Cooper early to never let your guard down.
  3. Should be a great crowd as these two schools have turned into a nice rivalry. I have a question on seeding for playoff's. The same question we went through last year I believe but can't remember. Does each team play twice for seedings?
  4. Morgan and Collins out. Lou was hurt. Shelton played well for just getting off the football field. Great defensive effort and when they get the others back that will give more depth to press more and to stay fresh.
  5. I think the Jags will be just fine. Both starting guards didn't play and Maniacci was limited with his sore ankle and didn't look himself when he was in there. Good depth this year. Horrible officiating both ways tonight. It looked more like the football game from last weekend.
  6. I don't know for sure as he has been dealing with a sprained ankle. My guess, he plays, but not at 100%. From what I hear, Cooper may be deeper this year than people think.
  7. From the Cooper side, I'm just getting out of Football mode but will be there tonight. It may take a few days to transition over to Basketball. And, as you said, Cooper won't be at full strength for a bit.
  8. I will expect NCC to be the favorite although I will be rooting hard for the Jag's. I'm not sure if the football guys have taken any shots yet and would like to see them take a week off and get refreshed. Good early season battle but means little this early.
  9. As mentioned below they did not cancel. I'm not sure if Dixie refused is the correct reason or not. From what I heard is the game was part of a tournament and unless they were playing in the 7th/8th place finish game that they didn't feel it was fair to Dixie to mess up their tournament. If you compare that to a regular season game (although a district game) then so be it. As I mentioned before, the Boone County Super Poe had to make the decision for this game to be delayed which is sad if you are Conner as does not show much character. I would love for coach Sullivan to play the game without the football players if that would settle it so people don't think it's just to have them play versus the real reason is to let the basketball players go watch the football game. Cooper would beat Conner without the football players, IMO, anyway and may win by 30 just to prove a point. The decision to postpone was the correct one and the players watched their classmates in the State Finals and had a great time!!
  10. Congrats Jag's on a great year. You made every Jag fan proud with the heart you played with the entire year. You may have made a few mistakes in this game but you proved you belonged on that field with one of the best. Congrats to Bowling Green!!
  11. I don't see where Conner should be upset about rescheduling. Surely they want to try to beat Cooper at full strength. I honestly believe Cooper would beat Conner without the football players. But, seriously, neither school makes it to the state finals on a regular basis and to deny the basketball players a chance to watch their friends a chance to win State would be plain stupid. There is zero doubt that Cooper would reschedule if Conner was playing. IMO Cooper will roll through their district this year so if I was Coach Sullivan I would have forfeited if Hicks had an issue with canceling the game. If the above post is true that Hicks said "too bad" about Cooper wanting to cancel then I lost all respect for the man. I hope Thisguy was wrong but he put it in quotes.
  12. Hope he is going to be 100% soon. I look for a big season out of the big man.
  13. I was very impressed with him last year as a frosh.
  14. As far as players going both ways, as mentioned before, Cooper players are in great shape and it will not be an excuse. This team has a group of players with more heart than you can imagine. They will come out focused and play until the clock hits zero. Most will put them as the underdog but they will believe they should win. I've never seen BG and they are impressive with their history and wins this season but I'm picking the Jag's in another hard fought game. I know nearly every kid that starts and I know they will be ready!!
  15. Hellbird, you need to have more faith in your team. Every game you have mentioned how you are "scared to death" of this or that about a particular team and your Jag's continued to roll. Relax, they are very good and will show up this weekend.
  16. Just got back from vacation and hated to miss this game. Congrats to the young men from Cooper and I will certainly be there Saturday as I hear most of the Jag fans will be there as well. Win or lose, you had a great run!!
  17. Jimmy Olson, I'm not sure how long you have been around Cooper baseball but I've been around the varsity team since the first year and if you weren't aware, Cooper varsity baseball had the most early success of the major sports. Not in title's etc. but in overall record. Baseball in the 33rd is very hard to advance out of as all you need is a main Ace that can shut the other team down. Cooper faced Teegarden a couple of the years and had Downs this year in a thriller but lost 1-0. Baseball is the one team sport where an individual (starting pitcher) can carry the team by himself. Coach Beiger has done a great job and puts as much effort into the program than any coach in NKY. I think last years team underachieved IMO but Beiger can't hit and field for the kids. I think this year will be much better for several reasons that I will keep to myself. Be a supporter and talk positive to your kid if he plays on the team so negative actions don't go to the field!!
  18. The big difference is that Cooper's defense could slow down FC where Conner's defense could not so IMO Conner had to try the onside kicks to try and get the ball as FC was scoring on them with ease. The extra 20 yards or so kicking to the 2nd line was all that Cooper needed on defense.
  19. Not I, as some FC fans were not very nice to us either!! Go NKY!!! Their students even called our cheerleaders names during halftime as they went to the concession and restrooms. Not very nice. I'm sure the cheerleaders were ok with it after the game though. Not all fans though, some were kind.
  20. It was clear FC fans would not be sending Christmas cards to Conner, that's for sure. I've never heard so many complaints against a team in a long time.
  21. Also, a big thumbs up to coach Borchers. Normally he seems conservative but after an off side on FC during the extra point on the first TD put the ball on the one, he went for the two and they made it with ease. So, every TD he called for the two point conversion and they made them all. Also he had them go for it on 4th down near midfield a couple of times and they made it. I'm sure he figured they would need all the points they could get with FC's explosive offense but he called a great game and an aggressive game. Well done coach!!
