  1. Lets be honest, nearly all QB's are bad when under pressure. Seattle even made Manning look bad and the Giants over Brady a couple times when their front four got pressure. I just want him to be great when NOT under pressure.
  2. Bruce is in a mental funk and needs to sit even though they don't have good backup options. He even started to lose focus on defense.
  3. I like Barnhart and Pena is supposedly "banged up" so let him play 1st.
  4. Well, I went by what was said on the radio or TV that he had an 8 game hitting streak and 10 RBI in those 8 games so that's about as hot as our injured first baseman has been. Anyway, this team is built on pitching and defense and you don't weaken two defensive spots by having Bruce at first. He is a Gold Glove caliber right fielder, leave him there.
  5. I was sitting in the third row by first base where I could see into the dugout and hear Hatcher yelling instructions to Bruce at first. In one inning the Cubs hit a single to where they had first and third. Bruce was walking back to play behind the runner and Hatcher had to tell him he had to cover first. UNREAL... Bruce is a great athlete but has no business "learning" to play first base in the middle of a season. You weaken two positions. Just call up Lutz, who has been hot, and put him at first everyday and roll with him. I bet if given regular time that he wouldn't hit any worse than Ludwick in left. You also have way too many relievers when your starters are so good. Most have not had much work at all in the last three weeks. Just stupid decisions being made. They are lucky their starters are currently #2 in MLB in ERA.
  6. DO NOT ENABLE. Explain you have helped all you can and it's time for her to grow up and make better decisions. She will thank you in the long run.
  7. You're kidding, right? First of all, my zero turn along with certain other expensive equipment doesn't get loaned out to anyone. Now, I have went and mowed a couple people (family) place myself when they had an issue. I never charged them or anything but I only give them a week or two to get theirs fixed or get another one. If anyone has the nerve to ask to continue to use your mower and then go buy new vehicle's etc.. then they made it easy for you to say NO.
  8. The real only major issue is if they have a mechanical, crew member sick, etc.. they have no ticketing agreement with the main airlines so you are stuck until they can get another aircraft to you or in some cities it's the following day. Doesn't happen often but I've seen it a few times over the years. On any of the main airlines they will put you on another carrier.
  9. Very frustrating to watch this team at times. However, since June 18th the Padres have the MLB BEST Team ERA of 1.78. Best by almost a full run. Their problem is their offense is horrible and finished the month of June as the worst in MLB history with a .174 TEAM batting average. Baseball is a funny game at times. IF, and I know it didn't happen, but IF the Red's get ONE key hit in game one they win and IF Billy makes that catch no runs score and who knows if they end up winning that one or not. So, as bad as it looked they were 2 plays from possibly winning 2 of 3. The Reds had the bloops go their way in SFO and in this series they went the Padres way. I'm not losing hope until this next 11 games leading up to the All Star break. I think they win 2 of 3 against MKE to get peoples hopes going again.
  10. Meso can't catch everyday during the season and Pena and Cueto have been awesome so for now I leave it alone. When you get into late August and IF the Reds are in the hunt for a playoff spot then you let Pena catch your #5 and move Meso to catch Cueto. That's what I would do.
  11. ^ We did have one kid get his eye shot out with a BB gun and he lost that eye. I rode on my uncle's lap in order to drive his 1972 corvette and when he went to have a sip of his beer I turned into Grandma's driveway a little too early and went up a dirt bank. Luckily I don't think there was any damage but I was only 6-7 at the time so not real sure. Jarts was a fun time. I like the one where parents kicked the kids out the door in the morning and didn't let us back in until dark. We had a great time until I hit my head on the metal swing set while sled riding and was knocked out cold. My brother put me on the sled and pulled me back down the road and I woke up when I heard my mom yelling as she ran towards us as she thought I was dead. I can still hear my brother saying "because he was too heavy to carry" when he was asked why he had me on the sled We were a little older and much more stupid when we shot "real" arrows straight into the air and tried to see who would run last.... wow, I'm not sure how I ever made it. I am glad to say I am the one in the family that doesn't get all riled up when kids want to go do something that may be a little dangerous in today's standards. Great memories!!
  12. Great, great hitter. I loved watching him hit unless he was facing the Reds.
  13. That's what I was going to say. I ran into "Carol" at the airport when she came in to do commercials for P&G. I almost asked her how "Greg" was these days
  14. It's made me sick as well. I have 45 acres in Boone County and you can see them dying more and more each year. I basically just use them for firewood. Hopefully the small trees will grow after the beetle is gone. I assume they move on but not for sure. I also had most of the Elm trees die over the last few years. Years ago the locust trees died off in numbers from something but they have rebounded quickly. Mother Nature will take care of the woods, imo.
  15. And my "white" son who graduated with a 4.0 GPA with a resume crammed full of everything colleges want got half the academic scholarship money that his "black" friend did who graduated with a "B" average, lower ACT score and hardly any communtiy service time. He started to have animosity toward his friend but we have to keep explaining it wasn't his friends fault and all is good with them. I wish we could all just be treated equal based on the same criteria or work performed. We won't get rid of racism until everyone is treated equal today instead of being punished for what happened to Blacks before a lot of us were even born.
  16. Congrats to Arlo and the boys. I know my son loved playing summer ball for Arlo and would of loved to have played for him in High School. He is a great guy and lets the kids have fun and play as he is the biggest "kid" on the team. He likes to have fun and the kids respond year in and year out. I couldn't be happier for him. It looks like I have an excuse to take a day off work next week and head south.
  17. Do you feel the same way about HC acting like the ball is thrown into CF so the runner may get off the base as well? No dog in this fight either, but I think I've read on here that the HC coach has done many "tricks" in the past.
  18. That was awesome. Someone should sent it to Krumps just for fun. The man has won a ton of games with the bunt but that doesn't mean this wasn't funny.
  19. You still have to score a run no matter how many you give the other team. Bellevue should be proud how they performed this year but they are not in the same class as most teams in the regional in terms of overall talent. Just the way it is.
  20. The Cardinals are on a stretch of 19 out of 22 home games so I thought they would get it going. The second Wild Card will be in the mix into September for a number of teams. The Reds are home almost all of July it seems so hopefully they aren't too far back by then and Votto is back and normal (or as normal as Votto can be).
  21. True, the sent most of the higher ranked guys for Latos.
  22. I always thought they were slow to bring guys up. John Fay mentioned Diaz has under a 2 ERA for the second year in a row and when he asked Price if they thought about bringing him up for the pitiful bullpen, Price said "we aren't desparate yet". The Red's have a few bullpen guys that are having terrible years to date and if Diaz is under a 2 ERA then he needs to be up here.
  23. I thought so as well off the top of my head and not researching it.
  24. My bad... I meant Satiago and his .194 average who was playing 3rd. I believe Lutz also plays first and was the reason he was brought up. Price mentioned in pregame that he would be used there. I made two trips this year to spring training and I believe Lutz played some first there as well but his minor league stats list him as an outfielder. Either way, IMO, Frazier is your everyday 3rd baseman and no need to use him at 1st where he looks lost.
  25. I've tried to be patient with Price as I like how he thinks "out of the box" at times. But, you can't have a revolving door at first with Votto out. Frazier has no business being there. You can't tell me that Lutz hits any worse than Sanchez. Leave Frazier at third where he has improved greatly defensively. As much as I like Pena's attitude, etc.. he isn't hitting much in the last two weeks either after a great start to his season. Both games Frazier has been at first there have been errors or "misplays" that have cost critical runs on a light hitting (no hitting) team.
