Baby Birds keep it rollin' with a 14-6 victory at CovCath THU afternoon. CovCath plated 1 in the bottom of the 5th to avoid the run rule.

Highlands hit the ball very well. Good pitching by their starter (Walkinghorst, I believe) kept the hitting down. CCH pitching struggled to find the zone. CCH first 3 pitchers were "first time out'ers". When they settled down and threw strikes, HHS put the bat on the ball. CCH had some errors to add to the issue. CCH won only one inning in this game and that was the last one (2-0)

 

14-7 really wasn't indicative of the game (score keeper didn't put the last run up on board)......HHS controlled this one from the very first inning.

 

CCH coach is trying some things and is really doing a good job figuring out what he has. Should be ready by tourny time.

 

NOTE: I think 7 Frosh are up on JV this year and not part of the Frosh Team.

I think it's Mark Bogenshutz. Not sure if he's the head coach but I do know he works with the pitchers.

Doubt it! If the numbers stay consistent I would not expect any boys other than 8th grade or above being allowed to try out. No 7th graders were allowed to try out this year.

This is what I have been told also. The Birds are at the point where they do not need to dip down into the 7th grade to kid players..
