We are about 3 to 4 weeks into high school baseball season who is the best hitter so far in the 9th region.

Even though he is only a sophmore Todd Ramey from Highlands is batting over .500.

I believe those are JV stats for Ramey.....Allthough he is an incredible hitter......

Not sure what his average is but Sophomore Zach Pangallo for NCC seems to always be collecting multiple hit games and big hits. Any one know his average?

I'll go with C Fogle of Conner. Batting .444 Slugging% .852 On base% .419. He's got 9 RBI, 4 Doubles, 3 Triples, 1 HR and 0 strike outs. Majority of the balls he's hit for outs have been screaming liners that are directly at people.

Please define "best hitter".......

 

Best average?

Best with RISP?

Most power?

Contact?

RBI's?

Smartest hitter (hits behind the runner, etc)?

Combination?

Jared Williams from Conner is having a great year along with Fogle, plus he is a switch hitter which gives him more options to achieve quality AB's and easier to move runners along. Plus throw Maines in there and 1-2-3 your toast! If you get one of them out Hart and Brake will hurt you, ouch! 5 guys who can long and hit for average. FYI, I'm not a parent for Conner, lol

One thing I have to qualify this with is, lets face, it you have some really lenient score keepers and coaches who do not do the averages correctly and/or give too many hits, etc.

At one point, I know that Suchanek from Beechwood was batting over 600. That was before a few Tiger losses so it may be lower now. The kid rarely strikes out and puts the ball in-play more than anyone I have seen recently.

Is this right? How can his OB% be lower than his avg?

Nice catch on that one Old Bulldog.......It COULD be possible IF he has no walks or HBP or reach on errors but has some SAC flies or SAC bunts added to his totals..

Tiberi (HC) would be my choice for overall hitter..

I would go with Schreiver (CCH), Fogle (Conner), Suchanek, Combs and Stringer (Beechwood), Tiberi (HC), and Pangallo (NCC). Those are the ones I have seen. Haven't seen them all.
