Congrats to NCC and Mustangs! Pre-season polls don't mean a lot, but it's still cool nonetheless. I think as the season plays out, we'll see quite a few more teams from NKY added to this list.

I think it is very hard to do state wide preseason rankings. It's hard enough for the local coaches and press to do rankings. Also, if the other thread was true where Norton is not playing for Bishop Brossart, then that takes a HUGE bat and the best catcher in NKY out of their line-up so that would have to hurt.

That's a great start to your season. IMO, Cov Cath will be ranked sometime throughout the season as they have some nice players. They are always one of the top NKY teams in the regular season. They need to start winning on the turf in the regional as I've thought they under achieved there the last few years.

Agreed. Depending on your pitcher that day, you could be the #1 team in the state, or the #5 team in your region. It is hard to take much from baseball rakings (especially this early), but it does give a little insight going forward as to who are some of the better clubs this spring.

They lost a lot of players last year and they do have nice players, but I'm not sure about being ranked in top 25. I may be wrong, but the next few weeks will give us a little insight about their team.

Not a bad way to open the season with a 3-0 win over a Norton led #25 ranked Bishop Brossart team on the turf at UC Health Field!

I suspect that Brossart is ranked #25 out of respect for our third place finish in the KHSAA State Tournament last spring. We lost six seniors and a seventh starter did not return this year. Besides Nate Verst and Tanner Norton, there is very-little returning varsity experience.
