CovCath Baseball! Can you believe it, with the weather outside?

 

First game of the season is just about a week and a half away on March 15th and the game location has been changed from CovCath to UC Health Stadium, formerly The Florence Freedom Field.

 

Looking forward to the warmth, the sun and the dry spring weather of HS baseball in the Ninth Region! Right!!! :idunno:

Can't disagree with you one bit about the start, as they usually are near the end of March but I think the chance to play in the Catholic Tourney got them starting early!

 

Getting to play some of these teams such as BB, NCC, St. Mary's Lou St. X, LexCath "T" is tough to turn down.

I feel another typical Cov Cath year.They will win 30 games be ranked number 1 in the region.Than come regionals lose in the first round to a inferior team.I know the Cov Cath blow hards will hate this but I call it like I see it.

Even blowhards have to admit it's tinged with a lot of truth. No region titles since 2005.

 

We're now in "don't tell me how good they are - have them show me."

 

It would be ironic if this team did it since I only know of a handful of players.

^I've seen Heppler throw and if he is "on" then he is a very good pitcher. I don't know many others on their team but they are always solid in the regular season.

Yeah I would agree completely. Their heads get too big and play to the level of their competition come playoff time

It's a matter of style. Small ball only gets you so far. It does not prepare you for hitting against the best teams ace when you really need a hit. Baseball only takes one pitcher to knock anyone out.

You may not be wrong, but they usually don't lose in the first round.:laugh:

A bunch of no names playing fundamental baseball. Getting bunts down, hitting behind runners, zero errors, no running mistakes, and only one walk over 7 innings....even with a turf mound that ripped a 5 inch deep hole in it.........

 

Expect more hands on management by the coaches and playing to the team's strengths.......
