It's NewCath. They will survive and live off tradition. It's amazing what kids can do when they believe in the system and the school. They will be just fine. A lot of schools with great tradition actually overachieve on down years, it just goes unnoticed because of that tradition.

It would take another school to step up and hold the JV tournament. The problem is, Cov. Cath is the only all-male school in the NKY area. All other schools have to split gym time between the boys and girls teams. Not to mention, the JV teams have to work around varsity schedules that vary from school to school. In order to work better (in my opinion), I think the tournament would have to be held on 4 consecutive Sundays which would most likely not sit right with religious folks and coaches to enjoy a breath of fresh air during the season.

Players must go through tryouts first. I believe 75 players are invited to try out for Team Kentucky, while Indiana uses the media to hand pick the players to their team.

I think Campbell is capable of winning this one by a large margin, but these two usually duke it out. I'll take the Camels by 9.

Scott and Bishop Brossart still need to play for the #1 seed. I believe the Campbell is #3 already.

So is the Regional draw on Sunday, then the games start Monday?? Seems like they should give teams more time to prepare. The teams in Mondays games get only a Sunday night practice to prepare for their biggest game of the season!

Off the top my head, I would put Tony Campbell (Holy Cross) #1, with Nick Jackson (Scott) #2. The rest are about even in my book and can "go off" on any given night. Chris Englemon (Holmes), Drew Mays (Ryle), Mason Monroe (Pendleton Co.), Short (Newport), Daquan Palmer (Holmes), Bueter (NCC), Siebert (NCC), Louis Maniacci (Cooper), Sampson (Simon Kenton). I would put Nate McGovney (Campbell Co.) in the top 3 previous to his injury, but I have not seen him play since. And yes, I know I put more than 10 players but all are worthy of consideration.

Did Maus play for Beechwood? He is their best player and if he was out, I can see why they struggled so bad.

Boone has the best player (Stanley) but St. Henry is more balanced. I say St. Henry by 8.
