  1. Seems like the tradional NKY small team powerhouses are struggling this season. Both New Cath and Beechwood's talent is down, while Holy Cross (not that there is a ton of tradition, but a championship is a championship) is getting pounded by the bigger schools. I'm not sure if any other NKY small schools can compete with Beechwood, Holy Cross and New Cath, but there is clearly a gap this year between the larger schools and smaller schools that may not have been there is years past. The Camels look like they are not ready to give up their 6A district crown!
  2. Don't know much about Pulaski but impressive final score from the Pioneers.
  3. What kind of season is Beal having from Holy Cross? I thought I'd hear his name more this season. I'm guess the large leads make the running attack a mute point.
  4. Beechwood scored 14 points late against the Holmes second string. Peterson is on a whole nother level than the Beechwood players. Beechwood drove right down the field to go up 7-0. Erdman gets destroyed on a crack block by Peterson. Then goes down again on offense and never returned. The balloon deflated at that point and Holmes did whatever they wanted to. Bulldogs dline dominated.
  5. I know it's early, but is Cooper a legit threat to go deep into the playoffs?
  6. I think Coach Lickert will get them turned around, but he must see Cov Cath in his sleep. As a head coach, he has been outscored 145-2 in 4 seasons (Holmes/Campbell Co.) against the Colonals.
  7. I have said this on other threads in the past but I can't help but think that if a good job came open in Western Kentucky that North Oldham coach and former Holmes coach David Henley wouldn't be interested. He is from Carlisle County, and has won a state title. Maybe Henderson Co will give him a phone call and see if there is any interest.
  8. I heard last week that Groce will likely to end up at Illinois and Ohio again hires an assistant from Ohio St. to replace him. I guess time will tell.
  9. Rowan County Southwestern Trinity(Louisville) George Rogers Clark Oldham County Knott County Central Marshall County John Hardin Southwestern Trinity(Louisville) Oldham County Marshall County Trinity Marshall County Trinity TB-123
  10. Good game between two good teams. Great season for the Indians. Once again it's a shame every year one of those 3 teams doesnt get to the regional toourney. Good luck to the Colonels on friday and next week when they cross the street over to BOKC.
  11. I think we need a poll- Who will you be listening to: Cov Cath Radio, Holy Cross Radio, or I'll be attending in person!
  12. The four years that holy Cross has hosted the district since 1995 have been 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009.... In those years they have been blown out by CCH twice... 2000 and 2003, in 2006 they lost by around 10 to CCH and in 2009 they played Holmes and didnt score 25 points. So the whole 1995 theory is not a very good one.
  13. Blind draw....Highlands, Bellevue, Dayton, Newport Central Catholic, and Newport
  14. In my mind, some of the teams that have played above what may have been expected of them include Cooper, Covington Catholic, Ludlow, and St. Henry. They weren't expected to do poorly by any means, but I feel they played better than I thought they would. Obviously people may disagree if they had higher expectations for those teams, but I feel like they are all overacheivers in my book. Cooper- big wins over Holmes, Boone Co. Covington Catholic-basically replaced everyone who had varsity experience Ludlow-may not have the "big win" yet, but have been much more competitive than the past few years St. Henry-have been able to bounce back from a difficult season last year
  15. Derek Smith, Brandent Englemon. People forget he played baseball until his senior year and then ran track for Holmes because of Michigan telling him to work on his speed.
  16. I think all the so called "under achievers" listed have one thing in common: not much talent compared to past year or years. I'd like to see a thread titled "over achievers" since were going negative on this one.
  17. To be honest, I have a hard time figuring out both of these teams. I'll take Conner with the only reason being that the Cougars are playing at home.
  18. I was never great at Math, but it appears the box score totals don't add up. Anyone have the full box score?
