Covington Holy Cross 63 Highlands 55

Travis Gabbard unofficially with 21 and 6 three pointers

Antonio Campbell with 20.

It was a 2 pt game until about 4 min left.

Apparently Campbell never fouls, picked up his 2nd with 1:30 left. Lmao

Great effort Birds

HC's hot 3 pt shooting saved their Bacon tonight. Oh and the foul discrepency until about 3 min left was a joke.

Gabbard getting hot this time of the year is the best thing that could happen to HC

Sounded like the Birds played reasonably well. "Foul" trouble cost them. Not deep enough for that. Broadcast crew for Holy Cross does a nice job.

Did Houliston play tonight, Q?

Congrats to Holy Cross!

Sounds like the Birds were healthy tonight and played a solid game.

Two quick fouls called against Nick True the first 25 sec in the 2nd half changed the whole complexion of the game. He was attacking Campbell on the offensive end and holding him at bay down low. Campbell had 4 treys and rolled a couple of them in. He is a load though with that wide body.

Congrats to Holy Cross!

Its amazing how well things can go when you are hitting shots. You shoot poorly and it affects alot of other things you try to do on offense.

Yes he did.

Definitely opens things up when you are knocking down shots and provides confidense on the defensive end as well. Sounds like this was a very good game and the birds came to play. Congrats to HC on the win and good luck to both teams going forward.

Gabbard with 6 and Campbell with 4 threes. Any one else hit one? Nearly half their points from behind the arc.

Didn't make this game or get to listen to it. Amazed if Campbell had 12 from behind the arc and only 8 from close range, especially if True was in foul trouble? Who stopped him underneath?

Gabbard 21 pts (6 3s)

Campbell 20 pts (4 3s)

Pouncy hit the other 3.

HC finished with 11 3-pt makes on the night. Campbell didn't start due to being sick last couple days, however he did play a lot in the game. Gabbard gave HC a big lift from the outside. Hopefully he can continue his recent hot streak shooting on into the districts.

Jake Gronotte battled him pretty good and the Birds surrounded him whenever they threw into him. Everything he scored in the paint was earned, believe that. The problem late in the game was the Birds knew they would go to their bread and butter to get baskets and they left Gabbard open. Couple that with a missed opportunity on the other end and the Indians stretched the lead to 8.

Credit the Indians for finishing the game strong.

I think the Birds only shot maybe 3 Free throws the entire game. Didnt look like anybody got fouled. LOL

Nice effort by the Birds. Congrats to the Indians.

Q you have made 5 posts in this thread and 3 referenced issues with fouls. Who had the game? Was it lopsided in your opinion or just one of those games?

I unofficially had fouls 18-10 for the game. 2nd half I know was 7-7 at one time because I recall Tony Campbell picking up a foul in the 4th quarter and the Highlands fans had a mock cheer. I happen to look up at the time to the board and it was 7-7 for the 2nd half at that point. I know the Birds fould 3-4 times in the last 2 minutes as well.
