I didn't realize Russell had so many offers. Is he playing with the Magic this summer?

Nevermind. According to the link he is still with the Magic.

Please tell me about Russell? Does he have ky ties? I'm lost.

He is from Louisville. Transferred from Central to Montverde Academy in Florida. He is rated a 5 star and already has 13 offers from D-1 schools.

Russell is a long, lean lefty that can get past his defender and finish at the rim, shoot off the catch or bounce and is a dangerous weapon in transition. His handle is good and he has very good court vision that allows him to make the right pass even when crowded in the lane.

Russell, who is now up to 6-foot-5 according to his father, is a five-star prospect and ranked the No. 10 overall prospect in the Class of 2014 per Rivals.com.

Louisville native, and Gators' target, D'Angelo Russell has a long list of college suitors but a handful of schools have been standing out recently and Florida is one of them according to the junior guard and his father, Antonio Russell.

"Missouri, North Carolina, Louisville, Florida, Michigan State and NC State," the elder Russell said when asked which schools have been recruiting D'Angelo the hardest recently. "Florida likes his game and the transition from last year to this year and likes his defense, how he shoots the ball and his court vision."

Though the Gators are showing increased interest, UF has yet to offer.

"Florida hasn't offered yet," the 2014 prospect said. "I hear from (assistant) Coach Matt McCall and he wanted me to come up when they played Kentucky but I wasn't able to."

In addition to the six aforementioned schools, Russell holds offers from Arizona, Cincinnati, Indiana, Memphis, Nebraska and Ohio State, Tennessee, Virginia, Xavier and several others. Georgetown, Kentucky and Maryland are among the schools also showing interest.

When Montverde Academy's season ends Russell, like most elite prospects, will be kept busy with Spring AAU season, various skills camps and the Summer AAU season. Previously Russell played for Louisville Magic but recently it was announced that this year he would play for Orlando based Each One Teach One (E1T1).

"D'Angelo wanted to play on the EYBL Circuit," said Antonio. "He thought about playing with them last season, he has a lot of friends on the Magic. But he made it clear he wanted to play in the EYBL."

Thanks for the update!!

Glad to help. What is so good about BGP....just ask and someone will answer your question.

I'm surprised Russell has moved from #10 to #22. When I last watched him a month or so ago against Jabari Parker's team it was the best I have seen him play. I never knew he could pass the rock like he does as well.

Looks like the EYBL is the place to be now.

The EYBL is definitely the place to be.

I was hoping you'd return soon. What are your rosters looking like this summer?

We're really, really pleased with both rosters (16's, 17's). Will post them on here next week.
