I think both teams will rely on the run. Boyle doesnt play smash mouth football on offense, at least not like JC does. It will be a great game. I think the Boyle Co. faithful are going to be shocked by how well JC runs their O.

Anybody know who set this game up? I suspect Boyle wanted to play them.

Obviously, I know that one game doesn't make a season. Boyle will be in the mix come November for certain. But, if they beat JC...look for them to have a very successful season.

JC is a very physical team. Look for them to run it 95% of the time. They run their style offense as well as anyone does in KY. They are skilled in their running game. They will pass it, they like to get you worried about their running game and then hit you with a quick strike deep. If Boyle wins it, they have 4A locked up. If they lose it, still will be in the running for 4A. Boyle is not accustomed to seeing this type of offense. Although Coach French is very familiar with their style, players in Central KY don't see it much.

Who is the new coach? Where was he last year?

Anyone that underestimates a Boyd co. team doesn't know KY football. Boyd has as much tradition as anyone. I don't see 35 players or whatever number they have being an issue if they can avoid key injuries.

Indians have solid numbers this season. Shows a lot of commitment by the players. I think Coach Gooch is getting buy-in for more players each year, sounds like this group is close knit and they get it! Tough district to play in, but should be competitive and fun. Indians scrimmage Boyle Co. Aug. 14th.

I apologize if you were offended, I based my opinions on what I thought were facts. Below you can read your post from the Boyd/Breathitt game. "The score was 28-6 at the half. Now why would Boyd have their J.V. in the game in the first half? Obviously they didn't. Boyd just ran into a buzzsaw plain and simple. I didn't see any J.V. players in the game in the first half or even early in the second for Boyd, but I do know Breathitt substituted liberally in the second half or it would have been worse, and I'm a Boyd County fan." Since MC was at Woodford that week, I assumed you probably didn't attend the MC game. Again, accept my apology for misunderstanding your earlier post. On a Bath Co. game thread you did say you listened to it on the radio, but I don't know of a radio station for Williamsburg or Bath that a person could pick up in Paris, KY. But I could be wrong about that one too, but I don't think I am. If so, I certainly apologize for that as well. We are glad to have you as a fan at MC too. Please keep posting the positive comments. And, understand there is no good reason to offer congratulations on posting positively. I do think fans get excited and just drop post on all the threads and opinions and sometimes facts do get lost in peoples emotions. But, please don't be offended for having your comments questioned. I think based on the above quote alone you can agree with that. It didn't seem reasonable.

I don't understand your thoughts on the MC losing a lot of players....who are they...some kids have moved away, but that happens everywhere. This senior class had 15 players in the 8th grade. I don't want to be negative, but you appear to have seen all 4 MC games, half of Boyd Counties games and half of Bath and Estill's....you really get around well on Friday nights.

Possibly true, but not to the degree where L'burg can be surprised or disappointed.

Yes, but not everyone has 80 to 100 freshmen either....sometimes its tough to even put a JV team together without risking injury to a player they may see some time on a Friday night....

I won't predict a score....but this one will be a battle. BS is much better than last year and they will need all of it to beat the Eagles.

MC has played two competitive games and have made lots of mental errors as well as some turnovers. However, the Indians have reached the point where being "competitive" is not enough. If the Indians get the mental part of their game going and play with intensity for 4 quarters, they will be in position to win Friday. WC is tough and well coached....look for a great game.

You got it. Overall, we are very fortunate Jr. Pro has continued to thrive and the Mcnabb situation is excellant. Coach Stockdale is a quality coach at any level and certainly for our McNabb program. The middle school was very poorly ran. However, I do not blame the coaches that were there. The administration just found staff members to coach. If they had a pulse and wanted to do it. They were coaches. I know for a fact, 4 years ago the middle school got all new stuff, except cleats. I also know the 7th grade team had 40 members and had 15 in the 8th grade. Anyone that really cares about the MC program is doing something about to improve the program not trying to justify themselves on a public forum. Some folks on this thread seem very concerned about MC, I would suggest you take the time to focus your attention on a program you can effect in a positive manner. MC is doing just these days.

Competitive game. Midway through the 4th it could have gone either way. Ryan Williams is a great back. MC had nice drives just did not get it in the endzone. Good luck to both squads the rest of the way.

Ever heard of advertising budgets. Nextel pays to be the sponsor of NASCAR...Nextel doesn't make money directly from the races. Great American paid to have the stadium named ....Applebee's paid the Legends to name their stadium... At the high school level, its all about feel good, community support.

That will be a great one for sure. I agree, 6'8" or 6'5"..who cares, either is bigger than most they will face.
