Montgomery County/GRC Predictions
What game isn't an attendance game? Also, with gas prices its a win/win for all 4 school systems in the bowl this year. Look for more local contest in the future - all across the Commonwealth. The Recreation Bowl is a sponsored game, like most of the Bowl games. It doesn't make or lose money. By the time you pay 4 teams to play...it takes a solid gate and good concessions.

Montgomery County/GRC Predictions
Actually GRC4LIFE and PIttswann are well informed and correct, MC has a 5 team district. With the realignment and other commitments by both teams this was the only way they could keep it going.

Dick Roddy : Pike Co Bowl Legends Honoree
Those are 3 great coaches.
-
Montgomery County/GRC Predictions
This is correct. Montgomery intends to play Clark whenever possible. Good rivalry and usually a good contest, no matter the sport.
-
Fleming County / Harrison County Predictions
Fleming has a shot. Should be a very competitive game.
-
2008 George Rogers Clark
It would appear to me the Cowboys have good coaches.

Montgomery County/GRC Predictions
Bowl games all over have been tough to schedule. Today there are lots of bowl games and the 6 class realignments made it more difficult.

Dick Roddy : Pike Co Bowl Legends Honoree
Nice story...hard to believe it took this long to select him for the honor. I agree with the story. Great coach, an even better man.
-
Madison Southern/Anderson Co. Predictions
Anderson by at least 18.
-
Montgomery County/GRC Predictions
MC by 12 in a great game.
-
East Carter vs Boyd County opening day.
I look for Boyd to have a great year. Boyd by 12.
-
Johnson Central/Breathitt Co. Predictions
JC by 14 minimum...maybe more. I suspect they will be as physical as ever and too much for the Bobcats.

2008 George Rogers Clark
Thanks for the info. I knew that but had forgotten.

Woodford County/John Hardin Predictions
For your first post, you sure brought out the big guns.
-
Belfry/Louisville Holy Cross Predictions
I would agree with Watusi....Haywood's teams sometimes down come out of the gate hard...but if they do, then its going to be a great year. If they don't, its still going to be a great year.

2008 Montgomery County
I agree.

2008 George Rogers Clark
Who was the head coach?
-
Bath County 22 Rowan County 14 Scrimmage
Please...scrimmages are glorified practice. Sure, game type situation, but so in preseason in the NFL. Preseason doesn't count nor does it mean anything in regards to the finished product. Coaches have to use scrimmages wisely....good luck to Rowan and Bath... Let hear more about the teams and players.... What are their strengths and weaknesses?

2008 George Rogers Clark
I understand, sounds like a leadership or character type of award. The Cowboys, are they a local team that competes only outside the community or are they part of a community league. If they are part of a league, who allows the team to be stacked?
-
Raceland 35 Morgan County 0 Scrimmage
Help me understand...what can Raceland get out of a scrimmage with Morgan Co. and what does Morgan get out of it?
-
2008 George Rogers Clark
What is the criteria for the award?

Under the Radar
Its all about speed. If you have speed, you will get recruited. As far as linemen, you have to have the current blocking techniques and footwork. While being tough is great, you can't just be tough. Also, everybody is spreading the field these days. Many of the mountains schools only want to bust you in the mouth. While it will win games, it does limit recruiting chances.

Montgomery Co 2008/2009
I would agree with that..Montgomery beat Clark 2 out 3 contest, I believe. Clark was playing good in March, but the Indians were the 2nd place team to the state champs.

Pike County Bowl?
Playing on turf is becoming more common each year. Its not that big of a deal these days. None of the bowl games, including the PCB has the attraction it once had. Lots of regional fans will come out to see Holy Cross and Corbin....those teams aren't going to play East Ridge or Shelby Valley. Let Belfry and Pikeville play two other Pike co schools and see how many regional fans are pulled into the gates. My only point is...you can't lose sight of what a bowl game is and why attendance has been good. You can't build the field and say "they will come", that only happens in the movies.

Pike County Bowl?
I agree fully. Belfry fans should not protest the decision. I comment related to the decision. A bowl game is a "feature game".
