  1. 37th Scott and Cambell 38th Harrison and Nicholas 39th Mason and Bracken 40th Montgomery and Bourbon
  2. Must have been a good one (an 8 inning game 2-1 in 2nd week of season)! Heard that CC pitcher was very composed going the distance this early in the season. Also heard defense was above avg for early season game and that MC had several outstanding plays including a diving stop and throwout by MC second baseman of a bullet hit between first and second in bottom of 7th when CC was threatning. Have heard CC has a solid team. Great effort by MC on the road and a long road trip at that.
  3. Congrats to Ian Danis! Solid day on a course he has probably rarely played, heard this was very competetive region with several individuals in the mid to upper 70's!! Good luck to all in Bowling Green!
  4. Congrats to coach Clary!! Great person and coach, deserves his shot!:thumb:
  5. Gonna date myself here, but Joe Magraine was pretty good back in the days of old!
  6. Interesting. Think how more severe the issue is when very few if any High School mounds have proper slope to plate. That 1" per foot equals a 10' landing slope toward home plate. See how many you thing have this covered. I always wanted kids to have a downward plane (or obtrusive plane if not tall in stature) to help with strike zone consistancy. But some of the mounds out there are horrible. Should be something checked by umpires just as the checking of the bats. If mound slope is proper and pitcher is getting a downward plane with landing knee flex this will eliminate much of the undue arm stress in High School and Youth League Pitchers.
  7. Haven't seen the speed for DE, but maybe I missed something.
  8. How bout naming some seniors that may not get the big D I attention but can play D II and maybe small D I from your areas. IMO these are a few I that I saw last year of that have gave 110% the whole game with there projected positions at next level. Montgomery Co Hackworth DB Darnell C Bath Co Metz FB, LB Lewis Co Bolander LB Woodford Co Duckworth DB Harrison Co Van Isaac TE/WR
  9. From the looks of recent posts, looks like Curtis and Combs are out for football. Thats a great starting point to build on!!
  10. G-town, Transy, MSU to name the nearer ones.
  11. This is a good point, but the question was what would it take for MC to improve the program. I don't see them getting over the hump until someone can get more of those one sport athletes to expand their horizons. Not saying its any one coaches fault, just saying a lot goes into a players decision to play 2 and 3 sports and they sometimes need a little extra nudge. One thing is for sure, it's not for lack of facilities-awesome campus!!
  12. Congrats to Coach! One of the better all around baseball instructors you can find! Has always developed good atheletes into above average baseball players. If there ever was a coach in KY that inspired my favorite quote "Great Atheletes make average Coaches look great but Great Coaches make average Atheletes Champions", he's the guy!
  13. I agree, and furthermore there should be designated smoking sites at all facilities. They didn't mind using Tobacco tax monies to build every facility in the state but they can't seem to put aside a small space for those who enjoy a smoke now and then. Not having smoking areas at outside events is ridiculous, you get more second hand smoke from the fireworks, cannons and vehicles in the parking lot!!
  14. I agree that some are multiple sport kids but that # needs to be much higher for them to build the programs and contend in the current alignments. I have heard stories of kids being pressured regarding starting status if not present during spring football. With all the summer 7 on 7 etc. there is plenty of time to iron out starters. If they can play they can play, spring practice or not. Good example is the QB now, gave up baseball which he would have much better shot at scholarship wise. He was also decent at basketball. He could get plenty enough reps in summer to establish starting status. You have to keep'em involved in all sports. Builds diversity and atheletic ability. Nothing better for a QB than a season of agility building basketball or arm strength building by long tossing baseball all spring. IMO
