Rodney Martin shared his feeling with an umpire in this year's state tourney

Rodney Martin, who led Lexington Catholic to state baseball championships in 1999 and 2006, is retiring as coach and teacher at his alma mater.

 

“I’ve been thinking about it the last three or four years, and after this season, I decided it’s time to move on,” he said.

So who will be the new coach at Lex Cath?

 

Coach Whitaker from Harrison County could be a possiblility. He could "double dip"--- Receive teacher retirement and be paid from a private school for his baseball services... You would have a proven baseball power with a "proven winner" as coach... Would be "powerhouse" combination! What do you think?

Boy that would be interesting wouldn't it...almost as interesting as Mickey Marshall taking over.

 

I think they will promote an assistant.
