Good win for Johnson Central. With the closeness of the final score, this looks like whoever was the home team (JC) had the slight advantage. I think this might be one of the most competitive districts in the state. Congrats to the Eagles.

Congrats Eagles you can go 10-0 and everybody in the state knows who's going to win it in class 5a (Highlands) and that just stinks. Good luck against the private schools come playoff time. It's just not fair to the public school kids.

I already regret posting this, but for what it's worth, only 1 team in Class 5A is private...Covington Catholic.

Tough game to throw a brand new quarterback into for his first meaningful varsity action. Proud of Central for hanging in there under adversity!

This is Johnson Central and Bryan Station, not Highlands.

Patrick Cornette carried the ball 26 times for 201 yards and 3 TDs for Bryan Station.

Awesome game. Lots of hard hitting and big plays. It was back and forth all the way, Central just got the big stop at the end. Would love to see these two teams meet again in Paintsville in the 2nd week of the playoffs.

 

Everyone knows how good JC's backs are. But Cornette and the fullback, I believe he wore #32 and also played D tackle, were outstanding for Station.

They just need to step it up to their level. A little county school named Rockcastle knocked off Covington Catholic in Park Hills and put a running clock against Highlands. It can be done.
