Congrats to the Lions .... but then again you are playing a very depleted East team. We are extremely down this year and with a 3 week stretch of Raceland, Mason, and Russell coming up in 2 weeks ...... It don't look to pretty.

You do have to realize too that this was East Carter. We are from my understanding pretty down this year. I hate to say this but we are. We lost a great deal last year.

At East Carter you must give a two week notice before you die during football season . That way we can clear a spot in the deep freeze until season's over to give you the proper respect. :thumb::thumb::thumb: :lol::lol: :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Football is a violent sport. It is so sad to see the injuries that can take place at times. God bless this young man and his family. There will be plenty of prayers going up from Carter County for this fella.

Ladies and gentlemen ...... I have tried to keep my mouth shut on this issue ( and if you know me that is a tough thing to do... keeping my mouth shut ) but we need to pause and think of a couple things. 1. I cannot believe that we as adults would let something like "BALL" ruin friendships and bring about such anonymosity / hatred. Amazing is all I can say. 2. We need to remember that a lot of these young ladies will no doubt read these boards and what are they going to think ? This is supposed to be an exciting time in their lives. They definitely don't need anymore stress than they get from other peers and such. School and growing up is stressful enough these days. 3. 20 years from now what have these fights / arguements accomplished ? My 3 kids as of today do not play ball but if they ever do I wouldn't let them play if this is what it amounts too. Mr. Watkins is taking over a young team that may or may not have a winning season. But why not let the girls play, have a good time, and let their record speak for itself. Just some ponderings from an ole' boy that loves sports but hates the politics that goes with it.

My daughter is friends with a few girls that used to play basketball and quit. They told her they were tired of all the politics involved. They said that it all depended on who you were, who your parents were, or what position you had in the community to wether you ever got to play or not.

As with any team that is going through a re-building phase, they will need patience and perseverance. It will get frustrating no doubt for these young ladies but they need to keep the faith and press on. I was thinking the other day .. and I usually get into trouble when I do this... but I had a great idea. There is always a parking issue when East Carter plays at home. KCU needs a football field. My idea is this. KCU and Carter County schools should go together and build a turfed field and stadium in the field right off I-64. East and West Carter teams could have their home games alternating on Friday nights and the Knights on Saturdays. All 3 schools could / would be accountable for the upkeep. They could practice on their respective fields during the week. The possibilities are endless. Concerts could be held there. KCU could host a great faith concert bringing in the biggest christian acts in the world. There is also always , every year, a parking and seating problem during the high school graduations. Problem solved. Just an idea.

2 games come to mind right off hand. 1. East Carter vs. West Carter 1987. West had taken the barrell away from us in 1986 for the first time since the schools began playing each other. My senior team brought the barrell back to where it belongs. :banana::banana: 2. East Carter vs. West Carter 1989. 48-0 bench clearing brawl in the 4th quarter. East won. (The fight and the game).

I may have to agree with you Golfer Dad. I have seen a lot of coaches that bail out when they see the wins column heading south for a few seasons. I'm not saying that IS the case with Mr.Zornes but we do see it a lot. I hope the health issue isn't serious.
