Just watched it. Terrible call to end the game. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Pathetic. Ridiculous. Awful.

and I will add.... Very Bad call at any point in the game.

Agree. And they wonder why teams won't come back to some events.

Are you passing on the foul on the missed FT ? I didn't see the kid go through the other player.

Passing on that EVERY TIME at EVERY LEVEL. Player never lost control of ball, no need to stop the game. You agree?

Trinity had the ball with 2 minutes to go in the game with a 5 point lead. There's a lot I don't understand about the way the game is played today but at that time in the game Trinity SHOT A THREE---WHY---.There's no shot clock in high school ball so why not use the clock to your advantage. Make the opposing team foul or if you are open shoot the layup but nothing else. Players and coaches should know this but for some reason this concept is not applied. IMP a foul is a foul no matter how much time is on the clock. Also ,you have to hit free throws to win the big games.

100%.

No glasses here. I have no stake in this matter. However, as I said earlier, the foul on Hawkins up four was what got the whole mess started. Trip? He ran over Hawkins. Either way, the game was Trinity's to lose with 11 seconds left and they allowed other factors to play a part that shouldn't have had the opportunity to play a part. My prediction is that Trinity runs the table.

There is no way with a sound mind, that you could say that the last play was a foul. Heck the rebound of the Hicks' missed FT wasn't even a foul. The trip was questionable, but I'll give them the benefit. Taylor didn't even feel he was fouled. Come on bro, take the glasses off.
Let's face reality. If you are from Louisville playing out in the state, or at Rupp when it counts, you will get no breaks and cannot allow the refs to have a chance to be involved in the game. And as Szabo said, and I've never heard him make such a declarative stement about the refs before, that's not fair to the kids when a ref makes a call that determines the outcome of a game. The kid would have had to tackle the player in college for that to be called and I seriously doubt that was what happened!

That being said, you have to congratulate Madison Central for a great effort!

Saw the film and it was a foul. The kid held Quans arms down. I was there and didnt think you call that foul with that time until I saw the film and he held him down, didnt give him a chance to jump and tip it. Mistake on that kids part and a foul is a foul no matter when where and all that stuff.

I wasn't there and from the video I won't dispute the refs. That said, the Trinity players put themselves in the position to allow a call - good or bad- to decide the game. If your shirt says Trinity, you will NOT get ANY close calls when the game is on the line. Remember that and play accordingly.

I totally disagree. Let me ask this- If they were going for a rebound and Dieudonne was blocking him out it would have been a foul on the MC player. Agree? What is different about this? He was trying to screen the kid away from the ball and he held inside position. The T player has just as much right to that ball as the MC player so he is allowed to screen him from the ball.

As I said earlier, we shall agree to disagree

I was very impressed by both teams.

I WAS NOT impressed with the refs.

They clearly wanted to give MC every chance to win the game in the waning seconds.

I hope both teams get to Rupp Arena.

I hope all three refs are sitting in the bleachers at Rupp Arena.

I have no dog in the fight and after watching the video it is another travesty by officials. A travesty that has happened and will continue to happen in high school sports. The officials were going to do everything in their power to make sure the game didn't go into OT. Just another example of so called adults messing with the lives of young people. This sort of thing goes on in the regular season, districts, regionals and, yeah I said it, the state tournament. Officials do not have to explain themselves and this is part of the reason for this type of behavior.

That is what this disinterested poster saw. If the Trinity player had boxed out, then gone up for the ball, I don't think a foul gets called. Based on what happened on the previous rebound/foul, the ref may have even called the MC player for going over the back. But it looked to me like the Trinity player kept pushing the MC player backwards and used his arm to hold him back. Tough call to make at that point in the game but I can't fault the ref for making it. I thought the rebound foul on the missed free throw was a more iffy call than the final foul call.

Because you can't use your arms to prevent a player from receiving a pass. That's the way it looks to me.

I agree.

It still blows me away the blame people want to put on the refs. Laughable. Especially the 'don't make that call at that time of the game' complaints. May as well just tell the refs to leave the game when there is a minute left since they aren't supposed to call anything late in the game.
