Madison Central 78 Trinity 77

The player boxing out has the same right to the ball as the player behind him. I would argue that the MC player fouled Dieudonne as he jumped over his back to get the ball.

If this was a rebound situation, no question the MC player fouled him.

You are allowed to see it through your rose colored glasses any way you would like but in that situation, 0.1 sec on clock, the ref should NEVER make that call unless a player does some malicious act.

Rose colored glasses? I was pulling for Trinity. I can see why the foul was called. That's all. Based on what was said before I watched the video I simply disagree with the disgust about the call. Add in the fact that Hicks missed two free throws with 5 seconds left and there you have it.

Just watched it. Terrible call to end the game. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Pathetic. Ridiculous. Awful.

and I will add.... Very Bad call at any point in the game.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one

That's cool. Good luck going forward.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Doesn't really matter to me who wins this game. I did think the Trinity player hooked the Central player with arms and prevented him from getting his arms up to attempt to tip the ball. Do I think it was a cheap call, might be. Not the kind of foul you see called to end a game, very often. I do believe it was a foul though. He hooked him with both arms.

thanks for whoever posted the video, I didnt care who won that game, but that was PATHETIC! If that would have been an Alabama player and Ky lost on the free throws with .1 sec there would have been 23,000 soft drinks on the floor.

First of all, that was a terrible call at the end. Trinity should never have put themselves in that situation in the first place. Secondly, I don't understand why they didn't have everybody in the paint defending the lob anyway. With .1 there was no reason to guard anybody else.

Not all coaches know the rule.

WOW two very questionable calls against Trinity but if Hicks makes the free throws game over.

They had far more crowd support than us.

Does Trinity not travel well for b-ball? Madison Central had a great student section, Trinity had NONE. MC had thier cheerleaders...all 35+ of them. Great fan support. I saw a few Trinity fans there, but they were silent. There was a few Trinity fans that sit behind me, I assume parents.

Those of you that were not at the game, missed a great one. Two of the top ranked teams , with some of the best talent in the state on the floor. Gym was full and electric. Hats off to Montgomery Co for putting on such a wonderful classic!!!

I would have been there, had I not been on child duty. That being said, we aren't known to travel well for basketball....Rupp in '04? Yeah, we were there in droves, but not a regular season bball game a buck and change away from home.

Just food for thought....Friday night Lincoln had ball and lead with 37 sec. left vs Madison Central. If not for over anxious freshman Lincoln MAYBE would have or could beaten Central . Any comments?

This is very true. This game loses some luster if Lincoln beats Madison Central on Friday.

They told me the Referees for the Mason County game was from the 14th Region and they called a fine game. I wonder why they did not use Bluegrass Officials for all of the games. Are they running short or did Montgomery just want to bring in some out of town officials?

Ira Combs brings his "own" officials with him. That's all I can say on that.

I only got to stay until halftime of the Trinity/Madison Central game. I would give officials in that game a C-.

In the game prior to this (Bullitt East/Rowan Co) it was almost funny the officating was so terrible. They'd get a F+. One positive thing they did was not whack either head coach for complaining about their officiating.

But what do I know about refereeing....

I watched them more than I did the game. LOL
