Madison Central 78 Trinity 77

It still blows me away the blame people want to put on the refs. Laughable. Especially the 'don't make that call at that time of the game' complaints. May as well just tell the refs to leave the game when there is a minute left since they aren't supposed to call anything late in the game.

I can't speak for others, but my feeling on that particular don't call that at that time of the game relates to the fact that where he was about to get the ball he literally could not have scored legally. In .1 time he would have to be at the rim touching the ball with his fingertip to knock the ball in. Hold or no hold, that wasn't going to happen.

But I will reiterate what I said earlier in the thread in agreeing with RP - If you play in a manner that allows the game to be decided by the officials, you have to look inward and blame yourselves. I do believe in the ultimate moment that the referees gave Madison Central the chance to win the game and took it from Trinity, but Trinity was complicit in allowing it to get to that point.

This loss should make Trinity even better, IMO. Could be a blessing in disguise.

I agree with this.

I can roll with that assessment and I agree with a lot of what you say. It's the travesty comments, and the Trinity will never get those calls, etc etc that make me laugh. Like refs wake up and say it's screw Trinity day today. Or, I better not call fouls late in the game unless it's something malicious. It baffles me that so much onus is put on the refs.

I think Trinity becoming a basketball power is the nightmare scenario for the KHSAA, so yes I believe that the refs will not give ANY close calls to Trinity in football or basketball. I have seen several games this year and have seen nothing that makes me think I'm wrong.

I think you're paranoid.

Really? So you think KHSAA is in conspiracy against Trinity and informs their refs to not give Trinity any close calls? Do you feel it is that elaborate or is it a subconscious thing that the refs are doing? I'm being dead serious in my question. No sarcasm intended. Granted there are numerous schools(fans/parents/boosters) who feel the same way you do about the KHSAA and their schools. Is that a feeling shared amongst many at Trinity about football and basketball?

Exactly.....out fault.

Actually, I believe the same treatment would occur to any Louisville team ranked #1 playing out in the state- not just Trinity.

Is that the general feeling in Louisville?

I would say that's a safe bet...

That is indeed the overall consensus....right or wrong.

I would say for the most part...yes.

T plays PRP on Tuesday. Might have to check that one out.

That's pretty interesting. I never knew that people in Louisville felt that way about treatment outside of Louisville. I hate to hear that but obviously the way this game ended adds validity for those who feel that way. I was there was something I could do to change it.
