July 20, 201214 yr EPIC! Loved this film. Walking out, I felt like I had just gotten off the best roller coaster ever. Great ending and the third climb was just intense to put it mildly. Anyone else see shades of "Rocky" with Alfred being Mick?
July 21, 201214 yr Definitely did not disappoint, but it wasn't my favorite Superhero movie, nor my favorite in this trilogy. I do agree with the "slow burn" comment, and I actually enjoyed that aspect of the film. Not nearly as much action as the Dark Knight, but it was still great. I love Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. I wish Bane would have been easier to understand. Batman Begins is still my favorite of the three. Batman Begins, Iron Man, and The Avengers are my top three comic movies.
July 22, 201214 yr Excellent movie but a tad long. I agree with the majority, that some could have been cut out. Bane was great but the Joker was the best in the series. Witty, crazy and evil, doesn't get much better than that. Catwomen did great as did Blake/Robin.

I still love the original Ra's al Guhl was also awesome, what they did with that character in Batman begins was just awesome because you had no idea the first time watching that a Batman movie was going to be that deep and unprecedented. I feel like what they did with him in the first one definitely got people excited for the sequal and they didn't disappoint with the Joker.
July 22, 201214 yr Just got in from watching it, and loved the movie. Outstanding movie. Just not quite as good as The Dark Knight. If this movie was an A+, you have to give The Dark Knight an A++. A lot of that is Heath Ledger's performance, and it's a shame we will never again be able to experience that. But I remember leaving that movie feeling that it was perfection. I still feel that way about it. This one has flaws. Most of them are cosmetic and just a quip here and there, but they're present. I almost feel bad for feeling that way. I really wanted to feel this was the best of the series.

I really wanted to feel this was the best of the series. I know what you mean and felt the same way. I knew that it was going to be good, but I didn't go in expecting it to be better than The Dark Knight, which wasn't IMO as well. Considering how The Dark Knight ended and with Heath Ledger passing away, I really don't see how Nolan could have done much better of a job, if any. I would not have wanted to see another actor used to play the Joker, because Ledger covered it far too good.
July 23, 201214 yr From what I've read, The Joker was originally supposed to return as the villain in this final installment. Then after Ledger's death, Nolan decided to change directions with the story rather than get a new actor for The Joker. Considering all of that, I think it makes TDKR that much better of a film. If this was Nolan's backup plan, can you imagine what is original idea would have been? :scared:
July 23, 201214 yr Personally, I loved it. Did I love it as much as The Dark Knight? Probably not... But I just overall loved the story of the 3 movies put together so much, I really just don't want to discredit it by making comparisons to what came before it. As a standalone flick and a continuation to the story, it was excellent.
July 23, 201214 yr Just got in from it. It's rare a movie lives up to the hype. This one exceeded it I thought! Just an outstanding movie!
July 23, 201214 yr Finally went and saw it yesterday afternoon and absolutely loved it! I didn't have expectations for it to be better than the 2nd, so I have no compaints at all. Totally called Robin, but that wasn't hard to see coming. I was completely fooled on the climber. I know he didn't have a lot of screen time in this movie but I want to comment on Michael Caine's performance. I'm not sure why, but his comments tore at my heart big time. First when Bruce Wayne basically told him to leave and then at the very end when they are in the cemetary. I thought he did a brilliant job and really added some emotion to the film. Absolutely loved the ending. It was perfect.
July 26, 201214 yr Saw this today. I thought this was outstanding. It was obviously limited to trailers for the Dark Knight Rises footage, but still, great editing and makes me want to watch all three back to back right now.
July 26, 201214 yr I thought Bane's voice was awesome. The Dark Knight was still a but better IMO, but I've loves all three.
