July 16, 201016 yr My favorite subway: Footlong Meatball Sub, lettuce, ranch, chipotle southwest sauce, onions, banana peppers. Usually I stick to the PB&J though.
July 16, 201016 yr One thing I've not seen mentioned is the meatloaf sandwich. My mom always made great meatloaf, and I (and dad and my brother) always made sure she made a bunch so that we could have the meatloaf sandwiches the next day. I've not had meatloaf in years because I fear it won't measure up to momma's, though. Seems like meatloaf isn't a regular on most dinner tables the way it was when I was growing up.
July 16, 201016 yr I hear you. With vacation right around the corner, I've a feeling I will be visiting one of Mr. Kadetz's establishments while back home. I'm dying for a potato pancake and a reuben. Do they still keep the big buckets of pickles out on the tables? Went to lunch at Izzy's in Florence the other day for the first time. Was very disappointed in two things - Service and no pickles on table. Had to ask for them. And service was horrible. Was late for a meeting when got back to work. Was ok though as boss was at lunch with me! But - the Reuben and potato pancake were as good as ever!

It was a staple when I was growing up. And yes, the next day's sandwiches - hot or cold - were a treat.

July 17, 201016 yr We'd get along great. My two fav's. I'm also partial to a bacon, tomato, and avocado sandwich but only with homegrown maters. That also sounds very good!
July 17, 201016 yr Maybelle likes a whopper and thinks the King is cute. Peaches likes the Fish at Mickey D's. Junior likes spam and for me nothing like a six pac of Bud and a crave sack of 24 from Whiteys.
July 17, 201016 yr Went to Izzy's last week, had the corned beef and Swiss with kraut no dressing for me. Wish I would have ordered two cakes, those things are absurdly good. I also ate about a LB of pickles.

July 17, 201016 yr That also sounds very good! Sometimes I use guac instead of the avocado and I may actually like it better that way. But only homemade guac.
July 18, 201016 yr Monte Cristo from Cheddars. Ham, Turkey, cheese ( not sure what kind). I think it is on sourdough bread. The sandwich is deep fried, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and served with a cranberry sauce. Sounds kind of strange, but somehow it works.

It must be good. I'll have to find out another day.
