September 30, 201016 yr Got to go into work late today because I worked a few extra hours yesterday. Definitely made a fried egg and bologna sandwich on toast with Miracle Whip. I love it!
September 30, 201016 yr Had a cheeseburger from Quatman's in Norwood for lunch today (bowl of bean soup on the side). Great stuff. Are they still serving on paper plates?
September 30, 201016 yr Author Are they still serving on paper plates? Oh yeah. The grease from the fries was soaked through before they even got the food to our table. Fantastic!
September 30, 201016 yr Was watching DDD's the other night. Place called "The Brick" was serving deep fried hot dogs. They were taking large all beef dogs, wrapping them with two strips of bacon, rolling in a beer batter, then deep frying. They looked incredible on a bun with some onion and mustard. Gotta try these.

Oddly enough, the Ozzy Osbourne song "Suicide Solution" began running through my head as I read your post.
October 1, 201016 yr I've never gotten the "chips on the sandwich" thing. I can't eat many sandwiches without chips. I prefer Sour Cream and Onion chips.
October 1, 201016 yr I am the same way as everyone has said about the Rueben...but I like the one at Penn Station although I've not had the fortune to try some at these other places that have already been mentioned. As for the quoted material, I agree that if you've never tried either Pat's or Geno's, the ebst thing would be go to one place, finish the sandwich and go straight to the other place. I've never tried myself and this would be the way I went about doing so. I have seen some good sandwich places on the Travel Channel and Food network and I would LOVE to go to Pittsburgh's Primanti Brothers and to NYC's Katz's Deli. In one of my many trips to the Burg, we tried to grab a sandwich about 2 hours before the game, it wasn't happening. That place was so packed. The lady said it would be at least an hour. I have been going to Pittsburgh since "92" and have yet to eat there. I am not going this year, but will be going next year and I WILL eat there. :thumb:

There is a place in Carnegie that made a great Pittsburgh/Primanti style sandwich. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of it, though. I had a roast beef and cheese there and it was amazing. In fact, you guys just gave me a great idea. I know Primanti Brothers opened a couple of restaurants in the Miami/Lauderdale area. Maybe we'll hit one of those the night before the USF/Miami game.
October 7, 201016 yr Author Is there anywhere in Northern Kentucky that serves these? Just had a Cuban sandwich for the first time yesterday at Skinny Legs in Bellevue. They have them on the menu, and a Cuban sandwich with black bean soup is apparently the special every Wednesday. I'd give the whole thing a pretty solid thumbs-up. :thumb:

Not doubting it wasn't good but Skinny Legs doesn't strike me as a very authentic Cuban restaurant.
December 13, 201015 yr Author How was it made? Not doubting it wasn't good but Skinny Legs doesn't strike me as a very authentic Cuban restaurant. (Looks like I missed this a while back.) It wasn't particularly "authentic" as far as everyone's descriptions seem to go, but it was a darn good sandwich all the same.
December 13, 201015 yr Author I had a "Juicy Steak Stacked Burger" from Buffalo Wild Wings over the weekend and was very pleasantly surprised. Two hamburger patties, pepperjack cheese, sliced steak tenders, two onion rings, and barbecue sauce. It was GREAT, and I can still feel it slowing down my bloodflow.
September 6, 201115 yr Bringing this thread back up for one reason. Bahn Mi's should have been included on here. There is a place in town called Pho Binh Minh that I go and get my fix from quite often. An exceptional sandwich and probably along with Gyros and Cubanos would complete the "formerkywrestler Holy Trinity of Sandwiches".
