Oliver Head is probably the defensive MVP for the Birds. To use him at feature back would diminish his much needed speed and hitting on defense. And let's face it, defense wins championships! Give Ollie some spot carries, as he can be lightning in a bottle, but let the others carry the O...while O carries the D!!

Seems like you're awful concerned with naming an MVP. Let's just say the team as a whole plays together like MVP's! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

MVP ...most versatile ...valuable...vulnerable...volatile? (lol) They are ALL MVP's in my book! We are no better than our weakest link so nobody should get the big head (no pun intended!) I was just trying to illustrate the need to let Dale be Dale and steer the boys back to PJS! Please don't take offense.

I'm pulling for Highlands to win this game and the next one. There's a reason for that.;)

Never mind Graybeard. After reading the paper about HHS vs BS and seeing that Highlands fumbled the ball away all night, I have a different picture of that game. It wasn't the matchup that made that game close - it was HHS almost beating themselves. I don't need to know about Ashlands speed or size. Highlands beats Ashland by 4 TDs or more (unless Ashland can create more than 5 turnovers).

If Highlands comes out with the same game plan were in for a long night. Any defensive coach worth his salt will study last weeks game and see Highlands weekness, soft corners and a back that can't hold on to the ball.

Rule 13

Mixing up one "Fort" with another is hardly comparable to the mythical destination of "Johnsonville".

I've been in NKY enough to know all the "Forts" are pretty much interchangeable, sans their football teams, anyway...[/quoTE]Are you dissing our fort system?

I wouldn't call them soft because they didn't wanna get beat by the long ball. If you try and pinch the BS receivers they are going to run right around you for a long TD pass. Highlands secondary played off of them and got beat by one 15 yard pass all night, when the corner got sucked up.

Birds 56-7

Ashland has had a great year standing at 7-4. Last year, as most can recall the miserable 2-8 year for the Tomcats this thought never slips the Tomcats mind. If you want to see a tough team watch these boys. They have a mix of some strength, some speed, some smarts, but more than anything the Tomcats have the ability to stay in the fight. When they are down they are never out, they never stop playing until the final whistle blows. I am an understanding person thats why I can say that Highlands is a better football team, but I also understand that if the Tomcats are down or if they are up in this game they will always show true grit and determination and never give up. I think the birds will pull this one out but I am obviously biased so GO CATS!!!!!!!

Why is it that when Highlands has a close game or gets beat their fans always have the same excuse " they beat themselves". At some point in life you have to face the fact that there are better teams and players out there. Come Highlands fans face up the fact that BS gave you a game you were not ready for. Dont take the credit away from their boys. The are a great team that gave you a great game. Hope you guys get knocked out this Friday so we dont have to hear no more about it.

Guess what that poster isn't a HHS fan...:rolleyes:

Just tired of all the they beat themselves crap.

Just tired of all the they beat themselves crap.

Don't remember hearing any of that crap concerning the game they actually lost.

You would be more comfortable if they ignored the truth? Just listen to those that were at the game. They gave an accurate assessment.

Fact is, this team isn't going to lose to too many teams, unless they do something wrong to make it happen.

I guess you've conveniently decided to ignore the many posts from Highlands fans that spoke very, very highly of BS, their players, their coaches and their fans.

The fact is that we had 5 fumbles; 2 of which we lost. The fact is that we had several huge penalties that really hurt drives deep in BS territory and probably prevented two scoring opportunities. The fact is that we had some difficulties with our punt snaps (one of which resulted in BS getting the ball in our terrritory). The fact is that we had difficulties fielding kickoffs. We do not normally do those things. So when they happen, we comment on them. And if you were at the game, you'd know that they did effect the score and in my opinion turned a 2 or 3 td win into a "pull it out at the end" game. And I'm not taking anything away from BS when I say that, as that would have been the closest game we've won this year.

As for your hoping we get knocked out, I really doubt that I or any other Highlands fan gives a hoot in Hades what you hope happens this Friday. Hope away.

Now, in bold so you don't miss it: BS is a great team and they played a great game. They were definitely the second best team we've played this year, behind only Cinti Colerain. Very well coached, well disciplined and very talented. Their coach put together an offensive game plan that was very, very good. As I PM'd Guru earlier today (much earlier and before I saw your post), BS is a program to be watched and will become the dominant football program in Lexington if the coach stays, the administration supports him and the kids work hard. However, if you expect me to say that BS is better than we are this year, you won't get that satisfaction because they are not.

And what does this have to do with the Ashland Highlands predictions anyway?
