I guess you've conveniently decided to ignore the many posts from Highlands fans that spoke very, very highly of BS, their players, their coaches and their fans.

The fact is that we had 5 fumbles; 2 of which we lost. The fact is that we had several huge penalties that really hurt drives deep in BS territory and probably prevented two scoring opportunities. The fact is that we had some difficulties with our punt snaps (one of which resulted in BS getting the ball in our terrritory). The fact is that we had difficulties fielding kickoffs. We do not normally do those things. So when they happen, we comment on them. And if you were at the game, you'd know that they did effect the score and in my opinion turned a 2 or 3 td win into a "pull it out at the end" game. And I'm not taking anything away from BS when I say that, as that would have been the closest game we've won this year.

As for your hoping we get knocked out, I really doubt that I or any other Highlands fan gives a hoot in Hades what you hope happens this Friday. Hope away.

Now, in bold so you don't miss it: BS is a great team and they played a great game. They were definitely the second best team we've played this year, behind only Cinti Colerain. Very well coached, well disciplined and very talented. Their coach put together an offensive game plan that was very, very good. As I PM'd Guru earlier today (much earlier and before I saw your post), BS is a program to be watched and will become the dominant football program in Lexington if the coach stays, the administration supports him and the kids work hard. However, if you expect me to say that BS is better than we are this year, you won't get that satisfaction because they are not.

And what does this have to do with the Ashland Highlands predictions anyway?

I couln't have said it any better myself.

I saw NO HHS fans making excuses and many complimented the BS program, coaches, and players.

I'm pulling for Highlands to win this game and the next one. There's a reason for that.;)

From your location, I'm guessing you'd like a rematch of last year's playoffs. Why would you want to inflict that on your team?

Just kidding!

All I can say is...From the outside looking in...I wouldn't want to be the team playing Highlands Friday night...

On another Note...The Highlands fans that I know are some of the Classiest

fans I know...:thumb:

Any chance this match-up will be broad casted on ICN-6, Insight Cable? Does Ashland web-cast their games?

Looks like I will be traveling this weekend and will not be able to enjoy Friday night's action... during and after the game!

All well just hope Highlands is out this weekend.

Why is it that when Highlands has a close game or gets beat their fans always have the same excuse " they beat themselves". At some point in life you have to face the fact that there are better teams and players out there. Come Highlands fans face up the fact that BS gave you a game you were not ready for. Dont take the credit away from their boys. The are a great team that gave you a great game. Hope you guys get knocked out this Friday so we dont have to hear no more about it.

Thanks for your support!:laugh::banana:

Let's make sure, the discussion is on the Game between Highlands and Ashland.

Really? - it seems a better question for you. Because, we already know that information. :D

You are great! I love your humor!:thumb:

Anybody remember 2002??? Rockcastle County 45 HHS 6. Highlands can be beat...something that shouldn't be forgotten. I still sense extreme overconfidence...at least by HHS supporters on BGP. Maybe Bryan Station was not an aberration. Birds will not be able to walk into their 18th State Championship...they will have to earn it...one Friday at a time. None of the upcoming opponents have conceded their game and each one is quite capable of beating Highlands. My suggestion...be ready and play like an underdog with something to prove.

Don't mistake comments on BGP's by posters that are over confident for the team being over confident. The team knew what they were up against last Friday. Mistakes were made and that is what almost cost the game.

Birds wake up, answer the cannon, and roll from here on out.

Highlands 35

Ashland 0

The Birds defense steps it up and shows the rest of 5A why they are NOT going to be beat!

I know that I predicted a huge Highlands win this past week and came away incorrect. I'm one who likes to play the percentages, and the percentages say that if you aren't from Park Hills, or can't defend on the corner kick (East Jessamine), you are probably going to leave Ft Thomas without a victory. Most likely it won't be pretty, this isn't Dixie.
