Laugh if you must, but both schools would give up every victory or every state title to have all their kids be successful in the classroom and in life over winning a football game!

A great education last a lifetime, playing a great football game last what 48 minutes?

Understand, I was trying to point out to a CovCath fan that academics will always will come first at CovCath and at HHS over sports!

They (CovCath Students) had a ball disrupting the recognition ceremonies, and taunting our cheerleaders before the game.

Knowing the present administration, I'm willing to bet that was short-lived!

I looked over to Ru after the opening kick, and asked a simple question. "Why". We agreed on the answer. From that point Cov Cath never attempted to recover. 3rd and 19? 4th and 12? No problem for the Birds.

I know nothing of Coach Brossart. Was scheduled to interview him this week, but he never answered his phone and I had to place several desperation calls to cover after he confirmed a day earlier. Let's just say it wasn't a good first impression.

It's like X or T up by 50+ at the half. Just an unreal environment tonight...

I really dont think there is anyone in the state that can beat Highlands.

I was at the Scott / Homes game tonight and I wish I could have recorded the crowd's response when the announcer let them know that HHS was beating CCH 55-0 in the first half. It was kind of a stunned disbelief.

And I was one of them.

I am going to going to go way out limb but I think it is a real possibilty that both Scott and Holmes beat Covcath. The early slide by the Covcath QB I believe is due to him looking at the yard markers incorrectly thinking he already had the first down or maybe he just wanted to practice his punting. He needs a lot of punting practice.

I think Holmes has a real opportunity this year.

Are you talking playoffs? CovCath beat Scott last week 49-12!

I thought HHS would win big, but this score is rather shocking. It's amazing what type of product HHS puts on the field each season, I'm not a fan but I appreciate excellence, and that is what HHS displays every season.

CovCath may be struggling, but talk of them losing to Holmes is absurd. You can't simply compare game scores and come up with a conclusion for the CCH/Holmes game.

For those there, did the Colonels play hard? I'm OK if its just simply a matter of a lot of talent vs only a little talent. I'm not OK with a lack of effort. I'm hoping it was simply that they didn't have nearly enough talent.

CovCath looked plenty talented but had NO (maybe less than no) answer for Highlands speed. There were eight Birds in on almost every tackle (usually in the backfield) with three more very close by. On offense, the backs and receivers were by the Colonels before they could take a step.

This was a hard hitting emotional game. The return & the early fumble were obviously huge. A metaphore for the game might be the feet-first slide by one QB vs the not-to-be denied head first dive for a score by the other. Sideline coaching of the CCH defensive unit during the 1st quarter seamed casual. PVS must have had 100 tackles. CovCath should make it better game next time, but the Birds will have additional weapons to contend with. And yes, education trumps everything else.

Maybe in 2009. These 2 won't play again this year. Sorry Cov-Cath!!!!

Honestly I can't imagine why he did that. I usually see that in the pro's when you have a multimillion dollar QB trying to protect himself from some 250 lb. DB. But hey, he only had 3 yards to go for the first. Put your head down and hit somebody. If you didn't want to get hit, be a kicker. They have a penalty called roughing the kicker. If you don't want to get hit, this is your position.
