1st for me tonite. I have never seen a high school QB slide in the middle of the field to avoid the hit. Can't imagine that went over well in the locker room

Highlands fans: do you think, when everyone comes back, that this team is better than last years?

Great question...

It seems that HHS' offensive line is really playing well. Also, HHS' special teams, which was thought to be a possible weak point heading into the season, has been a real plus so far.

If Conner ends up the year back at full strength, the backfield consisting of Conner, Crawford and Guidugli is going to be scary!

HHS' offense seems more diverse this season than last season, no?

disgraceful. This may have sealed Brossart's place in CCH history as worst coach in the history of the program.

It sounded like Head and Fennell had another great week of handling the running back duties for Highlands.

Also, I think it said that CCH's Van Sant had no catches in the game.

I seem to recall making a remark to this affect following the Dixie game, and that HHS had ample running backs to get the job done. Alford and Bankemper also deserve mention for their efforts late in the game.

Could be. That really doesn't need to be talked about until #18 is secured in the old trophy cabinet. If I was having to ask questions about my team, that's a good one to have to ask.

It sounds like the entire Highlands team had quite a night. Did HHS have any injuries in the game?

The whole 2nd string deserves kudos. That TD march was against CCHs 1s.

Could have been much, much worse. Wow...

What surprised me was the slide was a little early, and I believe he had room to run the extra two or three yards for the first down. Instead, it was fourth down and two or so, and they had to punt.

Agreed. It seems like they are throwing the ball a lot more. I have yet to see Highlands play this year so it is hard for me to say if they could be better. I am kind of partial to saying that no Highlands team was or will be better than last year since they ended my football career.

Is Collinsworth playing more offense or defense? I heard he was playing a lot more on offense.

That late game break-away run by Bankemper was a thing of beauty. And then he adds the exclamation point on a crashing TD from about the five. :ylsuper:

You know you did a number on Cov Cath when their student section is leaving before the game is over! This Highlands team is gonna be rolling when Josh and Clint come back! Also to note, Jarred Frank could possibly be back for Lex Cath from that MRSA infection!

I thought that was funny too. They had a ball disrupting the recognition ceremonies, and taunting our cheerleaders before the game. But by halftime, their numbers had been mysteriously cut by half. By the end of the game, they were down to two rows of about five guys. And they were doing some sort of synchronized activity that looked like they were practicing for a rowing competition. Not sure what that was all about.
