  1. any more updates (sorry my lap top wont let me listen to the game)?
  2. This is absolutely false. I am a former player and friend of many of the CCH football players. I can assure you that an overwhelming majority of parents, students, and alumni think that Dave Brossart is not capable of leading this program to the status it needs to be. In no respect were any people "out to get Brossart," his policies, decisions, actions, and coaching record all speak for themselves. I would say of the 24 seniors on last years team maybe 3 of them supported Coach Brossart. If you cannot command the respect and support of your players and captains, there is zero chance of turning this program into a State Championship contender, year in and year out.
  3. In all honesty how can you even think what you just said was true? The 2006 State Championship team had the then #8 ranked team in the country-Cincinnati St. Xavier on the ropes on the road through 3 quarters. None of those three previously mentioned teams would have beat the 2006 Covington Catholic team by 3 touchdowns. Would they have beat them? Probably. Those games would have, without question, been competitive.
  4. With all the talk of CCH being less-talented than normal, I would like to purpose the following question: Was CCH better last year than this year? I am only asking that question for two reasons. The first is that CCH lost 17 starters from the 2006 State Championship team, and then lost starting tailback Brent Buckley in their second preseason game of the season to a broken ankle. Although he did return for the end of the campaign, that is an extremely difficult injury to bounce back from. He would have been a major part of their offense. The second reason is because many in the CCH community acknowledged last year as a "building" season for this years team. In the preseason, CCH was featured multiple times in the local paper as being a contender to a State Championship this season. And other lines that read: "Covington Catholic will give the Highlands Bluebirds all they can handle this season," "They have the most talented offensive line in the state," and "CCH looks to return to where the program was in 2006." That being said, am I missing something hear? Their certainly were great expectations heading into this season. They had 4 returning starting offensive lineman, returning QB, VanSant, Deters, Deglow, Robinson, etc, etc. Why all of a sudden are people saying that CCH is "lacking the horses" to play with the big boys? They are not lacking talent in that school. As a former player under three seperate head coaches during my four years at CCH, I can promise you it is not a lack of talent.
  5. And to think CCH was beating this team 14-3 at halftime of the final regular season game last year.....
  6. Elder is going to run all over CCH. This will get ugly, and get ugly fast. What really makes me upset about this season is that CCH, no matter how bad they have been in the past, has never been downright predicted to get throttled by their own fans against any decent opponent. Elder:55 Cov Cath:7
  7. I beieve coach Brossart was quoted as saying this is the "best offensive line he has ever seen at the high school level," why all of a sudden are people saying CCH has no talent. They are playing like they have no talent. This is not true. The talent is not being utilized correctly and the offensive and defensive schemes are horrible.
  8. HaHa somehow I was at the bottom of that pile and didn't seem to hear those words.
  9. CCH could have won that game by 2-3 TD's if it had not been for a few missed opportunities. The officials had a few blown calls going both ways. Officiating did not lose that game for the tigers in any sense. CCH was the better team and proved it down the stretch with an easy win over Dixie in the playoffs. Saying that, this years defense does not stack up to CCH's last year. It will be a good one Thursday night. I predict CCH rallies late to win 31-28.
  10. Unfortunately, the game last night was so much worse than 52-22. In that game, Highlands had there starters in until the last 4 or 5 minutes, playing as hard as they could the whole way. Had Highlands done that last night, the game would have been 90-0. Plus, in 2001, the coaching staff had the ability to rally their team to victory....
  11. Nobody because he looks like he is going to score untouched....again...
  12. Yes, it shows the Cincy ST.X is not where they have been the previous three seasons. Saying that, ST.X is still a great football team and a very competitive program in one of the best conferences in the country. Still an excellent win for Trinity, but not over a top team in the country.
  13. What i meant was that, in general (including after the Cardinal Mooney game), many HHS subscribers made posts that indicated Brossart and the rest of his staff have what it takes to get the CCH program where it has the potential to be. This is easy for HHS to say when they are winning 61-0. HHS is the comparison by which we MUST measure our success. If HHS ever lost 61-0 to anyone in the nation (let alone CCH, I am aware this will never happen), I have a feelings most of Bluebird faithful would be calling for a change as well.
  14. It is easy for Highlands fan to suggest that it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with coaching. With all due respect, I respect the HHS football program as the best and most consistent in the NKy area and in the state (relative to their size), but I ask that HHS not comment on Dave Brossart as our coach. You simply do not know the circumstances. There are variations of talent in classes, but there is not that big of a difference between the players Ray/Rodenburg had and Brossart has. Last year Brossart's excuse was lack of experience because the state championship team lost so many starters.. what is the excuse now? The answer is that there can be none because such losses do not occur in our football program. If Mueller coaches CCH through pre-season to this game and vice-versa for Brossart, HHS wins by 10. The coaching would make that big of difference.
  15. Final Comment: CCH will never again beat Highlands with Brossart as their head coach, plain and simple. Elder's JV may be able to beat Cov Cath (Varsity) by 3/4 touchdowns and, unfortunately, I wish I were kidding....Highlands (2/3 team) could have won this one by 2 TD's if played tonight....
  16. I don't think so. If John Rodenburg and his coaching staff had never left CCH and continued the program on its path at the time, the game ends something like this: HHS 42 CCH 20 (Not disgracing the whole program)
  17. Solid prediction considering CCH walked all over Scott last week, does 49-12 ring a bell?
  18. This is embarassing, Brossart should be gone Monday. I feel horrible saying this but I do not believe a worse coaching job could have been done tonight. Highlands is more talented than CCH, but many do not realize that this is because of the offseason training Dale instills during the offseason. Dale is a great coach. Many alumni are furious. We have an offensive line that averages 6'2-260, Returning starting QB, RB's-Deglow,Deters, WR-Vansant,Robinson and the team does not get past the 50???!!!!!!! Not just Highlands ahead of CCH, they are fading and fading fast as a program.
  19. disgraceful. This may have sealed Brossart's place in CCH history as worst coach in the history of the program.
  20. I am a big CCH fan and supporter but I must say it would be absurd to compare CCH's running attack to that of Colerain. Saying that, Good Luck Colonels!!
  21. CCH is not even comparable to Colerain. I would not try to make that comparison. CCH will be able to put up a couple scores on the Birds, but the Colonel defense is still very suspect because of both size and speed.
