Game was played at Holmes and scoring 70 points is a bit much! Dale I am sure played a lot of kids from the JV on down, but still........

If that was in Ft. Thomas, guess there was some booming going on.

Game was in Covington.

Good Lord! Yowza...

Why even say that??? Were you at the game???? If I remember correctly didn't Dale take it easy on the team from Park Hills in the playoffs???:irked::irked:

It's not as bad as you guys think... Highlands actually scored all but 7 of their points with FGs.

I think you if read my post, I said "Dale I am sure played a lot of kids from the JV on down, but still"

Are you saying that 70 points isn't a lot of points in a High School football game?

Lickert was furious with CovCath last year for beating him 24-7 by throwing TD pass with about 3-4 minutes to go; I wonder if he was just as furious tonight!!!!!!

I can tell you that is one of the reason why I am not a Coach Brossart fan! It has nothing to do with wins and loses but winning with class and it would have been a classy move to have the QB take a knee! BTW I think there was only seconds left in the game, if I remember correctly not minutes.

The Birds didn't really run it up as much as Holmes turned it over time and again deep in there own territory. 8 TO's, 2 or 3 on kickoff returns that was giving the Birds excellant field position. Add a couple long scoring plays and it happens. Last 2 or 3 tds by second and third teamers, believe me. You can't turn it over that many times, punt all night and average like 25 yards per w/o a block and succeed.

This is why, scores are misleading. When a team has 8 TO's and they allow 2 on returns, it will be a long night for any team.

Sorry, but there was no way to keep this game close and no way to avoid scoring a bunch of points. You cannot expect the staff to put in an all sophmore and freshman squad against another team's varsity. Way too much chance of getting the young players injured. You also cannot ask 2nd and 3rd teamers to take it easy when they get the chance to play. Those kids have been working their tails off since last winter and they are going to go out and show what they can do when the get the opportunity.

I know a lot of folks will look at the score and say it should never happen. If they had seen this game, they would know there was no way to avoid it.

When did the starting Varsity come out?

Hey Oldguy, don't ever expect any of the Bluebird faithful to defend Dale...lol
