Elder, OH 33 Cincy St. Xavier, OH 15

I am not sure how much I put into rankings anymore.... Elder was up at one point 26-0.

I believe that Elder is a good football team that no one is talking about!

Does this take some luster off the win by Trinity?

Yes, it shows the Cincy ST.X is not where they have been the previous three seasons. Saying that, ST.X is still a great football team and a very competitive program in one of the best conferences in the country. Still an excellent win for Trinity, but not over a top team in the country.

The wins over Prattville, Al and then Don Bosco prep were still impressive, no matter how you slice it...Prattville just beat Brentwood Academy 26-0 last night and DBP was a very highly ranked team...True, rankings aren't a great indicator, but, unless you're a very, very solid team, you don't win games like that and like others have said, maybe Elders a little better than they're getting credit for...I think Trinity and Louis St X could both more than hold there own against any of the GCL teams, at least list year they could...

I've seen Elder twice now and they are a very good team. No doubt better than X this year, and every bit as good (if not better) than Colerain. With St X having so many issues on O, this game was an easy pick...

I don't think anyone thought this year's X team was as good as last year's after seeing both games with Trinity. X's QB (Massa) is out now with a broken collarbone sustained late in the Trinity game, so that would obviously have an effect on how good X is now.

VEry good points. Losing their 6'4" starting QB had to have an effect and hurt them tremendously - as it would any team.

Still a heck of a win over Cincy -X at the time. Maybe the Rock's did more 'damage" than originally thought. Elder benefitted.

I don't believe so...Cincy X was rolling coming into the game against us. We beat them up better than I have ever seen us physically dominate someone. They lost their QB for about 8 weeks, and I believe we really broke their will.

Agree totally. Maybe not the same team now as they were then - but so what. Maybe it was us who "knocked them" into a tailspin.:thumb::thumb:
