And honestly I didn't see one single CovCath player quit on the field last night.

Good to hear.

What i meant was that, in general (including after the Cardinal Mooney game), many HHS subscribers made posts that indicated Brossart and the rest of his staff have what it takes to get the CCH program where it has the potential to be. This is easy for HHS to say when they are winning 61-0. HHS is the comparison by which we MUST measure our success. If HHS ever lost 61-0 to anyone in the nation (let alone CCH, I am aware this will never happen), I have a feelings most of Bluebird faithful would be calling for a change as well.

Anybody check on the cannon guy? He had to be huffing and puffing.

Who do you think took the worst in that collision?

Nobody because he looks like he is going to score untouched....again...

Corey Compton also had some nice runs last night. Nice to see, especially considering that he's a soph.

Yes he most certainly did.:thumb:

He was concerned at the half because he was running low on the loads for the cannon.

Hey Boom did you make any more?

There was plenty in there on the last TD... :scared:

Rosenhagen was impressive with those kickoffs as well as his play on the D line.

As far as CovCath's coach, I think unfortunately he stepped into a situation where he was going to have to follow a very good act. That team CCH had 2 yrs ago was one of the best skilled teams I had seen in a long time. With that said, I still think it is the Head Coach's job to rally his players even when the chips are down and I didnt see much of that on the sidelines last night.

I just saw a bunch of stunned coaches and players milling about over there. Highlands clearly overmatched the Colonels but it was 14-0 at one point and the Birds kept getting flags thrown on them and that should have been the time to rally the troops and try to get something going. I didnt see it.

I just got off the phone with Isler Dad, and he told me that Ice thought he had the first down made, but in retrospect he realizes that he shouldn't have gone down even if he did think he had made the first down. Ice understands and accepts the fact that being the QB you get the acolytes when you win, and the grief when you lose, and he is more than willing to say he screwed up.

I have known Ice for quite a few years now, and he is no quitter! The kid works his butt off year round and is one of only a few young men in NKy who has lettered and or started for his HS team in all three major sports (Football, Basketball and Baseball). In this day and age of single sports hero's you don't find many like Isler who is willing to put it on the line at whatever sport season it is!

Watch out HHS fans, as this game was blown out, but in 2001....HHS blew out CovCath in the first game also and trust me, Ice is already thinking about the 2001 victory against HHS in the playoffs.

Think 2001 CovCath fans! With a spirit, that will not die!

WOW is this the worst beating in the history of this rivalry? This is just one example that says NKY is down this year...

Unfortunately, the game last night was so much worse than 52-22. In that game, Highlands had there starters in until the last 4 or 5 minutes, playing as hard as they could the whole way. Had Highlands done that last night, the game would have been 90-0. Plus, in 2001, the coaching staff had the ability to rally their team to victory....

Isler is a nice athlete and competitor and shouldnt be labled for that play. Some nights things just dont go your way and last night was definitely one of those nights for Isler. He should keep his head up and come out swinging next week.

As far as an upset in the next meeting like 2001, Im not buying any of that. Highlands smoked them with their 3rd and 4th RB's last night and had that fire. They will have Conner and Crawford back for the next meeting not to mention even more seasoned receivers in Hogue, Buten, Collinsworth and Buten.

Number 18 is in sights.

And other than speed, aren't those the things that coaches instill in their players!

Question HHS fans?

Lets switch teams! Give Coach Brossart the HHS talented players and Coach Mueller the CovCath team! Now answer truthfully, does a Coach Mueller team get down by a score of 55-0 at half time and then lose by a score of 61-0?

You can instill all you want, but it is on the players to execute. How hard players hit it up to the players. Desire is up to the players. Determination is up to the players. This game was over after two plays (the runback to open the game and the CCH fumble on their first series). The coaches were on the sideline trying to make the players focus, but the players had already dropped their heads at that point. The CCH defense has not stopped anyone all season from scoring. That tells me they do not have the talent on that side of the ball to win.

Shanked punts, dropped passes, fumbles, slides in the middle of the field short of the down marker on 3rd down, are all on the players...

I don't think so. If John Rodenburg and his coaching staff had never left CCH and continued the program on its path at the time, the game ends something like this: HHS 42 CCH 20 (Not disgracing the whole program)

With as many points as the CCH defense has given up this season that side of the ball is clearly the problem. Coaching may account for a small portion of it, but if you are giving up on average 6 or 7 TD's a game, that tells me there is a HUGE talent gap... No coaching magic bullet for that my friend.

So you are saying that Coach Mueller wouldn't made a difference nor would Coach Ray or Coach R with the CovCath talent? Strange how in just two games against HHS in less than a year, the talent, heart and soul of CovCath has died where as it hadn't in 40 years!

Remember in the last two games the score now stands HHS 101- CovCath 0!

Strange, I have always heard a great coach will make a poor team better, but a poor coach will make even a great team worse!
