One of the coldest I recall was the 2012 State Semifinal game at John Hardin.

BG outlasted a really good JH team.  I had as many clothes as I could get on and was still absolutely frozen by the time I got to the car!

It always seemed cold at old Cardinal Stadium but 2002 was rough. Breathitt County/Corbin on Friday afternoon and then as @BEChargers referenced the Boyle County/Rockcastle County game on Saturday morning were just brutal. I think a pipe burst over the Boyle section as well, which didn't help! Oddly enough, and despite what @MBKT said, I don't remember it being that cold for the Trinity/Male classic on that Saturday night, although it might have been because it was so exciting and so fast-paced that getting cold wasn't an option!

Belfry at Lloyd Memorial on Thanksgiving Friday in 2003 was one of the colder nights I can recall. I'm sure @Watusi would agree.

Last year's Franklin County vs. Covington Catholic game.  I was taking pictures and couldn't wear my gloves because I was taking photos and could not hit the buttons.

That was the same night as Highlands at Cooper and it was freezing. Fortunately the wind seemed to be coming over the top of the stadium and blowing toward the field house, but it was cold everywhere that evening.

I know I’ve been to colder games but one that sticks out in my mind was the 2005 1A State Championship game between Mayfield and NCC. Night game. Low 30s and raining. Not fun.

The 1978 semi-final that we played at Ft Knox was so cold that I can barely recall anything about that win. But I definitely remember how cold it was. ?

1997 State Championship was brutally cold and the only thing worse was the ending...

2010 State Semifinals against Ryle when they put us on top of the press box in freezing cold and swirling winds was cruel and unusual punishment that I'll never forget too...

Not high school, but November 11, 1995; Wabash at DePauw.  Temp was 5 degrees with a strong wind putting wind chill well below 0.  Field was practically frozen.  Cleats wouldn’t even dig into the top layer of what was left of the grass.  We were up 2-0 until late into the 4th quarter; when a busted play and QB scramble by Chris Ings (multiple time state champ at Ben Davis) led to a TD and 7-2 win for Wabash.

Second coldest game was 2 years later against…Wabash at Blackstock Stadium.  Temps in the upper 20s, wind chill in the upper teens with 4-5” of snow on the ground.  Much better result with a 14-7 DePauw victory.

November 3, 1995. BGHS v. Union Co. @ BG.

Absolutely the most bitter cold I have ever been a part of in football. Opening-round game where the then 10-0 Purples needed a pick-six to beat the four-seed Braves, winning by the slim margin of 35-27.

It would be the only close game the Purples played in the playoffs in '95 as they steamrolled the next four rounds and captured the first State Championship in school history.

1992 4A State Championship: St. X vs. Boone County. Old Cardinal Stadium turf was frozen and hard as a rock. I didn't play in game so standing on side line with wind was very cold.

Game log here says was 31 windy and cold.

Without a doubt the coldest High School football game I've ever attended was the 1987 semi state game between Pikeville and Beechwood at the Tigers home field. Don't remember the tempt, but it had to be below zero, plus the wind coming off the Ohio river dint help the situation. Never been to a colder game since. It was stated by the sports writer of the Williamson Daily News that his ballpoint pen actually froze up during the contest and he had to go on memory from that point on. True story.

It's been said on this sight a couple of times but the '03 semi finals game between Boyle and PT was as cold as I remember being at a game.

Coldest game I ever attended!!!  Wind dang near blew me off the press box.
