It always seemed cold at old Cardinal Stadium but 2002 was rough. Breathitt County/Corbin on Friday afternoon and then as @BEChargers referenced the Boyle County/Rockcastle County game on Saturday morning were just brutal. I think a pipe burst over the Boyle section as well, which didn't help! Oddly enough, and despite what @MBKT said, I don't remember it being that cold for the Trinity/Male classic on that Saturday night, although it might have been because it was so exciting and so fast-paced that getting cold wasn't an option!

Belfry at Lloyd Memorial on Thanksgiving Friday in 2003 was one of the colder nights I can recall. I'm sure @Watusi would agree.

Belfry vs Lloyd is without a doubt the coldest I have ever been at a football game. So cold, so windy.

It's been said on this sight a couple of times but the '03 semi finals game between Boyle and PT was as cold as I remember being at a game.

I remember that game well. I was in 5th grade at the time. Mom made me wear two layers of socks and thermals under my jeans. Boy I'm glad she did. We all were wrapped up in blankets and still freezing but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was the Rebels getting that road win!

That same night Danville played at Mayfield with the duo of Charles Penix and Kelvin Turner in the backfield. One things for sure, you didn’t want to be trying to tackle Penix on a night like that and the scoreboard showed it.

1997 State Championship was brutally cold and the only thing worse was the ending...

2010 State Semifinals against Ryle when they put us on top of the press box in freezing cold and swirling winds was cruel and unusual punishment that I'll never forget too...

Yea the 97 State game was the coldest for me. 3 degrees.

I got to coach Charles (2004) & Dukey (2005) on the All Star Team. Fine young men and good players.

KY was loaded w/ RBs for the 2005 team. It was tough to narrow it down… but Dukey was the best one in the state.

Here is the Belfry vs. Lloyd Semi-Finals game.

My butt was still cold 24 hours later.
