Boone is one of the higher paying districts. But not the highest. Someone mentioned Scott....Kenton County does pay more, as does Ft Thomas, and I believe Ludlow just to name a few.

Well, he's a tenured teacher at Cooper and virtually impossible to remove.  If he goes to another public school, he could be non-renewed after the first year before tenure is restored.

Unless it was another Boone County school, but I get what you are saying. Just feel like that would be a terrible situation to work in.

Helps when all the schools are within 35 minutes (Campbell - Ryle) apart.

I believe Kenton County Schools and  Fort Thomas are the only ones that pay more than Boone now. Ludlow as you mentioned does pay very well too, especially for being a small school district.

That district is so big with so many employees that you seldom see or deal with the superintendent. I would imagine principals handle most of the extra duty situations with the superintendent stepping in as last recourse. Apparently the superintendent must be in agreement with the principal on this matter. As I said earlier, the situation will work it's way out. I would assume Cooper would give Coach Sullivan's son a release if he wishes to play for his dad at another school district be it public or parochial. With the repeal of WPE/GPO, the diocesan retirement plan, and less impact by KDE parochial education may be an interesting option for a teacher.

As previously stated, the principal was not in attendance at the termination meeting.  Nor was the AD for that matter.

I believe what you are saying but, that's really hard to believe. 

Very poor form. Part of being a leader of an organization is being there through good times and bad.

I nor most on here know the whole situation BUT with this being the case I’m confident of the side I’d stand on!

I agree with this assessment, pertaining to any scenArio I am able to immediately think of / dream up.

As was also noted, I have no real knowledge of this particular situation, but if (m)any of the details presented in this 20+ page thread are accurate, it seems as if the Principal & Athletic Director SHOULD have been PREsent to stand-by the decision they made to "not renew" in this case.

The matter seems quite 'curious' ?
