If that's the case maybe other schools need to look at that. Football, girls, and boys basketball have been rather successful this year. Had outstanding girls golfers and a state cross country champion.

Guru, as you are aware personnel issues are not always discussed readily with the media. During your former career you probably witnessed such situations. In due time whatever happens will happen. As I posted earlier, coaching is an EXTRA duty and Mr.Sullivan probably has other school day responsibilities which are a much bigger part of his total salary package than his coaching stipend. Seems odd that there seems to be a great deal of unrest with the success of their athletic program. Saw someone upset with the girls program.....and they are regional champions FOUR CONSECUTIVE YEARS and have had nice state tournament showings. I guess part of it is a sign of the times.

There is nothing stopping Coach Sullivan from sharing the whole story.

That's true.......but as you know there are two sides to every story. It just seems strange that whatever has occurred has taken seventeen seasons to reach this point. Apparently if Mr. Sullivan applied for the Conner job last year he was looking to move on to another school....and one in the same district to boot. The Court of Public Opinion is not always the best option.

I believe "The culture" has less to do with basketball and more to do with the day to day school "culture", and how the basketball program has affected that culture. If what I'm hearing is true, this "culture" issue within the school could have a very, very sensitive, underlying deeper meaning that one does not throw out there freely to the public. Getting an attorney involved would limit what could/should be said to the public, and I don't see any statement from the principal, school, or school district on the principal's side of the story.

And just like that.....the season ended and no one cared anymore about the Coach Sully drama...ha ha I am just kidding.

I am a little shocked that we haven't heard of any type of follow up meeting. If I was the principal and I was going through with this I feel like I would want it done before spring break. The principal's timeline is iffy, at best! ?

The AD is behind this as well not just the principal.

The AD doesn't make that decision, the principal does. I do agree, though, that he has to also sign off on it.

And you know that how? They have worked together since the school opened correct? Unless things have changed ADs never make decisions on hiring or terminating personnel. That's usually a principal and possibly site based concil.

You'd be shocked and saddened at how little site based councils actually matter in school decisions these days. Most districts have found plenty of work around and the votes are just a formality. They are also usually made up of "yes men/women" these days.

Site base is not making choices to fire coaches.

E'h... have we ever actually heard anything from the Principal either? Am I right in saying that everything we know is from what the news and Mrs. Sullivan reported?

I don't have the same connections that I did a few years ago but I have not read or heard anything from Coach Sullivan (whom I admire), Principal Wilson (whom I hear is an okay guy), or AD Borchers (whom I met at Ludlow in 2006 and thought was a good guy).
