Care to elaborate on things you’ve heard. Or just pure speculation?

Unfortunately can not elaborate. Sorry.

This year Cov Cath has one of their largest freshman classes in over a decade, and it looks like next year's will be very large as well. I think there is a decent chance that Cov Cath may not be in 4A once the KHSAA realigns for the 2025-2026 seasons, and I think there's an even better chance that they won't be in 4A when the 2027-2030 alignment is done.

(Holy crap....typing 2030 as anything not involved in the plot of some kind of sci-fi movie is a mind-blow.)

Aren’t they going back to 4 year cycles after this next realignment happens next year?

Due to my recovering from a knee injury at home, I haven't been in the loop as much as normal, BUT I sincerely doubt that the entire staff has been let go.

Our normal off-season workouts are continuing as per usual.

Brossart doing Brossart things.

Love to see it little brother...

As a person that was in the building when football started at Brossart, I now realize they have fully arrived as I read through these posts (some really funny, some totally arrogant, but most totally uninformed). Not too long ago they were contemplating dropping the program, but now have a nice facility (take that BIG BROTHER) and football has become a good part of their total school program. I would think Coach Eviston stays where he is. His moves have been to places with opportunities to win big immediately and the Mustangs aren't there yet. Remember some of our early conversations Mustang? They have come true lol!!!

I don’t buy Eviston leaving to avoid Boyle. They’re not beating Boyle this year unless something crazy happens, but after that, Quisenberry and Driver graduate and you don’t know. The freshman team last year has some real nice talent on the lines, a couple potential very high level players and you don’t know what class each of the schools will end up being in. The incoming freshman team (not too familiar on the players), ended up getting the 1 seed in the Big School Cincy Catholic league last year. The 25 team will be very, very good. I’m skeptical unless it’s for a family reason or BB really puts a monster financial package on the table.

You are frightening me.

Mustang get well Sir! You are one of the absolute class acts in NKY!

Brossart had early success in the program. Almost folded and are back to relevance. For such a young program it's a shame they would think that what Wiggins has done is not enough.

Wonder if any alumni would be considered??

Welcome to BGP @BBHCEAGLE!

Thank You Sir!

Wiggins has done all too commendable work at Brossart, already aforementioned accolades like taking the program from the brink of extinction to being respectable in NKY. However I do believe when a new coach is announced (if it's a big name, like some mentioned) this move will make sense.

Brossart's best win in my opinion was a down year Lloyd in 2021 when Brossart had arguably their best team yet. I don't think any of Brossart's teams to-date could compete with say a NCC, their rival in ~insert NewCath team year here~. I'm guessing they felt a change in management would help get them there.

Brossart is a "new" program, but are they? In 2 years, they will celebrate their 20 year anniversary with their best being a some district titles and a win over Lloyd (not trying to downplay those achievements from where they came from prior) but they also went on to lose to Raceland by 40 that year.

I don't think the administration/fans will expect the new coach to immediately lead them to state, but in my opinion:

1.  This change was probably not made without a name lined up.

2. It was not done because of anything Wiggins did personally. He is very well respected from what I've heard.

I hope both ends end up on the greener grass here, Wiggins and Brossart, but time will tell.

I could be wrong, but I thought they were going to do a second two-year cycle and then go back to four-year cycles. I'm not positive of that, though.

I should add that I know BBHS has a pretty strong senior class next year if they all return with the new coach.

I use your old quote quite often, that you issued one night during a broadcast as Bellevue was beating up on us.

You commented that "These coaches know that its only a matter of time until Brossart football joins our other sports at being championship caliber."

We have certainly made our mark in Class 1A since then.

I have zero clue or insight here. But if I was in the position just strictly coaching, no way aM I leaving CovCath to go coach Brossart unless it’s such to good of a financial deal you couldn’t possibly pass it up. At CC you have top notch facilities, student body support, administrative support and big time booster support. So the schedule was tough this year and maybe the next, so what? CovCath didn’t try to get away from Highlands during the Mueller era did they? Competitors compete regardless of how tough things get and I’ve never noticed Eviston to not be a fiery competitor.

that being said I only see him leaving for the betterment of his family for whatever reason that would be, not because of competition being to tough.

Facilities - check

Student body support - check (albeit a smaller number)

Administrative support - check

Big time booster support - check

Brossart has those things.  Add in a growing population base and you have a school and teams ready to blossom.  The only thing that can detract from that path is increased tuition costs.
