Wiggins has done all too commendable work at Brossart, already aforementioned accolades like taking the program from the brink of extinction to being respectable in NKY. However I do believe when a new coach is announced (if it's a big name, like some mentioned) this move will make sense.
Brossart's best win in my opinion was a down year Lloyd in 2021 when Brossart had arguably their best team yet. I don't think any of Brossart's teams to-date could compete with say a NCC, their rival in ~insert NewCath team year here~. I'm guessing they felt a change in management would help get them there.
Brossart is a "new" program, but are they? In 2 years, they will celebrate their 20 year anniversary with their best being a some district titles and a win over Lloyd (not trying to downplay those achievements from where they came from prior) but they also went on to lose to Raceland by 40 that year.
I don't think the administration/fans will expect the new coach to immediately lead them to state, but in my opinion:
1. This change was probably not made without a name lined up.
2. It was not done because of anything Wiggins did personally. He is very well respected from what I've heard.
I hope both ends end up on the greener grass here, Wiggins and Brossart, but time will tell.
