Thanks for the correction. I guess I need to working on my brain health, father time shows no mercy. I swear ever since they went to the 6 class system I can't keep up with who is in what class either. 

I would still like to see this game played, and with NEwCath no longer being a true top 5 team in 1A I think these matchups would be competitive more than they would not.

No longer a top 5 team in A? You clearly are still not paying attention. Final four 2 out of the last 4 years. Lost to campbellsville by 5 who I believe who lost to pikeville by 7. One year they were tied with paintsville in the 4th quarter who went on to state.  They have clearly been a top 5 team the last few years.  Sorry to hijack the thread.  But a guy with new cath in his logo is not paying attention.

And to bring it back to Brossart talk.  No it would not have been competitive.  Dayton beat them 14-0 and the following week new cath beat Dayton 43-19

Any thought of a Justin Mason resume popping up again in Alexandria. Son is a senior at Covcath and still lives in Alexandria.  Long time name in Campbell county.  Could pull some kids out of the CCHS to help Brossart on the field.  Does have 3 girls left. 

Are there any current staff members that would be interested in this? Or is the school looking to clear house?

This is now the 4th CovCath coach mentioned in this thread, you all trying to take my happiness away?! 

In all seriousness, I know nothing about him outside of him being at CCH for quite a bit now, if he has aspirations to be a head coach, why not, but I have a hard time believing he’d uproot his son from CovCath to go to Brossart. 

Issac was and still will be a key contributor for the Colonels this fall. Tough spot to put your kid in.

Mason has applied to New Cath when that was open a while back and also Campbell when that was open before Mike Wolfe. He would be a great fit as a head coach. Especially now learning from EE and Terry Brown.

Did he apply to these jobs before coming to CovCath? Sounds like yes. Which tells me all I need to know. He’s got a son at a school with a winning football program AND getting to coach him. I don’t know why anyone would blow that up.

It was the offseason after 2017 when Coach Lickert took the New Cath job and Mike Woolf went to Campbell County to replace Coach Lickert.

Not sure when Justin joined the coaching staff at Cov Cath, but it sounds like he was interviewing at New Cath and Campbell County in the post-2017 offseason.

Anyone really think he would leave a coaching position for another gig coming into his sons senior year? There are no exceptions in my mind that would happen. My line of thinking is he has waited for the season his and his sons entire career, and wouldn't want to muck that up for "selfish" reasons.
