Would love to know how many 3's Reeves took off the dribble.  Seems like it was a lot.  The step back 3 off the dribble is such a difficult shot.  

Cal being undermanned needed to stick with his best lineup as long as possible. Once Dickerson went for a breather they needed to start slashing to the hoop to try and extend the lead by as much as possible. To much dribbling with out any screens or cuts to the hoop.

Ignoring the two fouls (which you know he had), I thought it was more telling Calipari went with Sheppard in the clutch. Right when Sheppard came in, the game turned. In fairness, when he got saddled with his second foul, UK continued to excel and extend the lead. Dude is too good to leave off the court.

Which is exactly what I said in the game thread.  We were about to find out if they were gonna play afraid to lose, and unfortunately they did.  Which really, seems like it's been the downfall of most Kentucky teams the last 8-10 years.

I saw the last 4 minutes of the game the exact opposite. They were not afraid to lose. They were actually a little too loose.

It comes down to this. When you get to that last 4 minutes of the game, do you have the discipline to make extra passes and work to get the good shot. Kansas did. UK didn't. Experience was the #1 reason for that. UK will be light years better at that come March. Last night has me excited about UK's prospects when we get there.

Last year UK shot about 25% of their shots between the paint and the 3 point line.

Last night, every shot UK took was either a 3 pointer or in the paint except 3 shots. Yes, only 3 shots last night outside the paint and inside the 3.

Last night looked very different.

I don’t think they played afraid to lose at all in the end. They didn’t play well at the end, but I don’t think it had anything to do with being afraid to lose.

I didn't watch any of this game. After catching the highlights and reading on it some today, I don't know how you could feel anything but optimistic about this season as a UK fan after that game. 

Sure you want to win every game. UK was up double digits in the second half with little to no post presence and nothing from DJ, against the #1 team in the country with probably the best player in the country. 

UK has a legitimate shot to cut down the nets. Ugh. 

And stupid DJ Wagner cost me $150.

That’s a high-level statistic! 

I was really impressed with them. The last five minutes they starting playing like freshmen and got a little selfish. It looks like it could be a fun year.
