He was, but it was to be expected against an undersized Kentucky team.   Kentucky had a 7 man rotation with Burks giving about 10 minutes to give guys a breather or help out for guys in foul trouble.  Everyone in America knew going into the game that Kansas just needed to pound the ball inside.

No secret, but where UK lost their way was the discontinuation of attacking the rim. This brand of offensive basketball people have been longing for can be feast or famine. But the analytic thought is if you are not knocking down perimeter shots, the lane should be open, or it should open up the court to grab offensive rebounds. Missing from deep at a higher clip can be overcome by 1) the volume of threes hoisted will account for something; 2) easy looks.

Two take aways: Not the biggest Calipari fan but he always fights the AAU mentality of these "stars". The quicker they adapt to COLLEGE basketball and COACHING the better they will be. Second point...... it's the SECOND GAME OF THE YEAR (I guess lol)...UK fans are unbelievable lol.

I thought given the circumstances and overcoming an early deficit, UK performed about as well as you could hope against the #1 team in the country.

I think we will see that more as DJ Wagner gets stronger and understands playing at a higher level.

I do think that's a big point. They took a big punch in the mouth right out of the gates and came fighting back and played a great final 16 mins of the first half, minus maybe the last 30 seconds.
