If Cats shoot free throws better in the 2nd half they are in position to win at the end. Wagner and Edwards are just a mystery to me, especially Wagner. Edwards doesn’t strike me as a real assertive player and waits for the game to come to him. Wagner however is more assertive, but has to make passes for easy plays for his teammates. I think he ended with 1 assist, that's just crazy.

All that said, this will be a fun team to watch. I think their athleticism will drive some teams crazy.

He shot a lot of threes, but honestly most of the threes he took were pretty good looks. Especially the two he took at the end with a chance to tie it. He is a guy I can live with shooting that much, because he will usually shoot a much higher percentage than that with the looks he was getting tonight.

I stand corrected. I didn’t realize the NCAA last month took about 15 wins away from Kansas. Which allowed UK to move back up front. I don’t know how I missed that. 

Come on @futurecoachI'm surprised you're better than that. lol No seriously it was around the 10th of last month when the penalties were handed down they lost any wins that Silvio De Sousa played in which was I believe was 15 wins.

Once again, in game adjustments Cal!!!  Obviously the plan was to go under ballscreens for Harris which is fine, he hadn’t been shooting so far, now you’re up 83-78 with 3 minutes left, Harris is 4-4 on 3’s and you’re STILL telling them to go under ballscreens??!!  Kid has all day and hits the biggest shot of the game!!!!  Always been my biggest criticism of Cal, just terrible at in game adjustments 

Final Four mins was brutal and I'd agree with anyone that was disappointed in Cal because of them. But it is what it is.

I hope that Edwards bounces back and finds his groove. Almost like Thiero stole the shine I thought Edwards would get tonight.

I think there are is a lot to like about this team but am I crazy for worrying a little about Calipari trying to find mins for all 3 of the 7 footers that were missing tonight?

If he can get it right most nights he should be fine. I feel like it will be a struggle.  First one eligible has the advantage.

I disagree. I felt many of the threes were rushed and under pressure. UK was too quick to shoot for much of the second half.

Cal is notorious for "sticking with his dudes". How long can he stick with Wagner and Edwards if Dillingham and Sheppard keep producing more? Is this going to be stubborn Cal again or has he seen the light? The second Sheppard and Dillingham came in it was an instant shot of energy for the 3rd game in a row.

Many of the second half shots were just as quick as the shots in the first half. We’re a couple forced? Absolutely. However overall most of the shots were very similar to the first half. 
 

Which even though it didn’t work out. I like the fact that Cal didn’t take the air out of the ball the last 5 minutes of the game like he always have done. In the past in the last 5 minutes they always would take the shot clock down and usually be forced to take a bad shot they didn’t want. Instead he let them play and players got to take shots they may have liked, but just didn’t go in.
 

Now as time goes on, it would be good to find a happy medium at the end of games between not taking the air out of the ball. While still taking some time off the clock.

Edwards is the one I am little worried about. For being as highly rated as he is, there just doesn’t seem to be much to his game. Not the best ball handler, and not great at creating his own shot. 

Terrible coaching!

This team might be the most fun UK  team to watch in several years.  Not bogging down to run a slow paced offense.  They are young so they will improve.  I think last night is a glimpse of what UK fans can expect this season which means a team that can play with anyone.  

I thought the difference in the game was ball pressure.  Seems like as it waned, the game slipped away.  Changed the dynamic of the Kansas possessions late.

When you have the lead, you can be more patient and disciplined. That is when the extra pass we saw in the first half needs to be emphasized. Work for the open look, not the rushed shot with a defender on you. Also, too much one on one dribbling, not enough offensive teamwork. I would need to watch the last 8 minutes and break it down, but my memory is UK needed to be more disciplined in their shots.

It's all a learning curve, except for Reeves trying to do it himself. I  applaud his effort and leadership, but he is not special enough to take over the game by himself. Use your teamwork and get better looks.

As far as air out of the ball, I  agree. Don't just kill clock, but run the offense, be aggressive but be patient. The pressure is on the team trailing. They will get over aggressive and you'll get the open look if you are patient.
