It just means more…disappointment.

Rooting hard for an all non-P5 Final Four. The dream is still alive! (Looking bleak right now for Houston.)

Not watching but the SEC and Big 10 have taken huge dumps in this tournament.

Not true for the SEC. They did very well opening weekend.

At least they have that.

Hard to argue that no one is better than UConn and Miami right now, and UConn is better than Miami.

None of them could win more than two games.  That greatly overshadows first weekend success.  At least in my opinion.

Guessing the one for Arkansas involved Corliss Williamson? He's the dude that I remember more than any other in the 90s as a young UK fan. Him, Mike Bibby and Michael Doleac (spelling).

I am really impressed with Texas on defense, they are doing a great job shutting X down.

Texas got two nearly impossible threes to go in the first half, everything is going their way.

While there have been some upsets, this tournament has been sneakily unkind to true Cinderellas. Of all the upheaval the first few days (probably was not as much as you think), Princeton was the lone double-digit seed to make the Sweet 16. The difference between team 1 and team 40 is negligible. I guess you can cite the transfer portal, but that’s been pretty consistent with college basketball for a while.

Interested to see if Nowell is hampered at all with his ankle. Normally if you get back out on it like he did Thursday you can manage. But once you cool down and rest, it’s a challenge to get the ankle up to speed. We don’t really know how severe the injury is, so it may be no factor.

UConn is now the betting favorite at +300. Just behind them at 4-1 is today’s opponent: Gonzaga. This game makes me think back to the start of Gonzaga in 1999, when they were a cute #10 seed Cinderella with Matt Santagelo and Richie Frahm and did battle with Rip Hamilton, Khalid El-Amin, and Jake Voskul in the Elite 8. UConn narrowly escaped and of course went on to win the title against Duke. I’ll never forget watching this game at hotel in St. Louis on a Saturday, awaiting to go see UK the next day lose in the Elite 8 to Michigan State. Night before UK had taken out Miami (Oh) with Wally Zserbiak (sp?).

The thing I remember about Wally is that he looked like the All-American Boy.
