The last four minutes or so in this Creighton/San Diego State game is about as ugly as basketball gets.

The hook and hold review is one of my least favorite things about the college game.

1971 Final Four appearance.  They had that stripped from them because star Jim McDaniels signed a professional contract during the season. But they basically just ignore that and the NCAA makes no effort to enforce.

Gotcha!

Well, that was more interesting than the late game last night.

Some of our fellow UKs may get their wish of Calipari leaving if Texas blows this elite 8 game. Even though I think their interim coach deserves the job full time. I think if they come up short, it gives their AD a chance to go out and make a big splash type of hire. To go along with the new practice facility and new arena Texas is getting. Which both would also be big sale in getting Calipari.

I guess we’ll see.

My preferred teams to win (in order):

1. FAU

2. SD St

3 Miami (God help me)

4. UConn

My expectation is the exact reverse.

I bet NCAA won't be happy that this made the telecast, as ridiculous as it is.

The YUM center should’ve just put up a 2013 National Championship. The owners of the YUM center have zero concerns with the NCAA. Kansas and UNC have let all schools how to deal with the NCAA.

Honestly, I think it would be ideal for both Texas and Calipari.

Devils advocate here: Why hire a 64 year old coach that hasn’t been to the final four in 7 basketball seasons?

The vast majority of potential hires haven't been to the Final Four in the last seven seasons.  It seems Texas wants to go a different direction from the interim guy or else they would have hired him by now.  Calipari would give them a huge name and a sensational recruiting class to go along with quality returning talent.

Better question. Why would Calipari leave UK now with the class he has coming in?

That’s the one thing that I think probably helps keep Calipari at UK. Unless he is confident that he could get a lot of them to follow him there instead, like when he got a lot of his recruits to follow him from Memphis to UK.
