He is a great guy and certainly deserves some relaxation.  Big shoes to fill.

I remember when Bernie Barre left, I thought no one could be any better.  Then came Mike Yeagle and I thought the same thing when he left.  Now I feel that way about Noel.  Hopefully the program will continue to grow and succeed.

I think whoever takes over the program will be in good hands.

Any names down state or across the river to look out for? I know 2 names you can cross off that list unless they change their mind.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that. 😉

My phone's been blowing up here on the beach in Puerto Rico this afternoon, though.

And as I understand it, Noel's phone has been gettint blown up by 513 numbers the last few days as well.

Perhaps Beechwood goes the Scott route and makes a trade.

Florida Receives: Noel Rash. 5 year deal that requires contract + a house.

Beechwood Receives: Florida HS coach looking to escape the sunshine and attend more Cincinnati sporting events.

BLOCKBUSTER.

One criteria that I expect to be at the top of the list. The coach must be in the building. That might help screen potential names.

From what I witnessed, to keep the program at its current level, new coach has to be in the building. His impact on kids all day, not just after school, was a huge reason for the success IMO. Not saying success couldn’t happen with an outside person, but wouldn’t be the same. He was all in, always available, and the kids knew it.

I was told by a pretty reliable source that Bob Sphire made the deal with Wes Caldwell (his former player at Lex Cath and the AD who hired him at Highlands) to come back to Kentucky and coach at Highlands with the intent of setting things up at Highlands for the baton to eventually be passed on to Hayden Sphire.

That will NEVER happen and you can write that down and circle it.

Kind of surprised/not surprised at this. Congratulations to an amazing coach on a phenomenal career! I’m sure Beechwood will be in good hands with whoever is the next coach. Will be interesting to see if Noel Rash ends up somewhere across the river. I say more likely not than likely. Either way, it’s mighty big shoes to fill for whoever the next head coach is for Beechwood football.

I would think this job will get a lot of interest from some high quality candidates.

Who is on your short list?

The Guru needs to get his resume cleaned up. If not, there are some posters on here that might be interested lol.
