Watched via YouTube (great job Talley and Murph!). Beechwood had control of this game early. But way too fancy on offense and honestly don’t know what the sets were on defense. Run the ball, control the clock, and play good defense. It’s just one game and the Beechies will bounce back, but there is now tape out there that other 2A schools will use……

Let’s bookmark this one for reflection after we see what the Tigers Run Game is tonight. ?

This is such an interesting story to watch unfold. The truth needs to come out in the end. But if history tells anything, it hardly ever does in Park Hills. Until then, popcorn please…..

Couldn’t disagree more with this take. Respectfully of course. But kids playing multi sports in high school should never be discouraged or viewed as a negative. They will be just fine if they hit the weights during season AND be in better shape overall. And I can tell you from experience D1 scholarships for lineman are handed out on size and projections. Basketball players are encouraged to transition to Football because of their footwork / agility. Saw it firsthand at every camp and visit. At the official visit dinner Our sons O-line coach literally told us “yours sons are here for there size. They are not ready to play against men nor will they for a couple years.” So my point, playing basketball now will not affect them long term. As far as QB play goes I really hope that Sowder gets a true shot. I look for #19 to lead BW to #19 ultimately. Admittedly I'm biased on this one but kid has been a gamer his whole life and huge reason they won it all this year. He menaced that QB in title game. Put that pigskin in his hands and he will move it down the field and the machine will roll on…….. Go Beechies!

What a fun couple weeks watching this team show out and take #18. Most impressive to me was the defense coming together and showing up when it mattered most. Big shoutout to my guy Soph Bo Sowder (19). Damn he lived in the backfield the past two weeks and disrupted some things in the biggest games of the year. This pic says it all. Great game Bo, Pops is smiling down on ya buddy. Congrats to all you Beechies. Enjoy #18!!!

Defense wins titles. Whoever’s shows up Friday will win. That simple to me and based on how the Beechies showed up on Friday night I’m liking the chances for a Beechie win. Should be a great game and can’t wait to watch it!

Offense is sexy and gets all the credit, but Defense wins titles and hangs banners in titletown. Beechwoods showed up tonight. Great game. My game balls to #19 Bo Sowder and #59 Jack Meier. You boys lead the way and brought the lumber from where I sat. Great game to the entire defense!

It’s pretty weak that this game is not viewable. I can’t but help to think of how my Pops was able to watch some games of his grandson last year while going through Chemo / cancer. It meant a lot. No reason these games shouldn’t be televised. Every school should be using it as an opportunity for students to do the broadcasting as well. Just my two cents. Go Beechies.

Always been a Cash fan. And I'm not dissing on Hayden here. Great talent. But Cash creates and is multi dimensional. To me that is what the difference was on the field tonight. 569 yds offense? Teams don’t do that often. I’m sure that young man will lay his head down tonight feeling that this one was a little more special due to his benching at Beechwood. Is what it is. And yes, the battle up front was pretty lopsided. Kudos to CCH on winning the oft overlooked battle that wins games. The trenches. Takeaways. Both teams will be fine. Always a fun matchup. ✌️

From what I witnessed the teams were pretty evenly matched outside QB. Cash Harney settled that debate IMO. The speed at QB just was too much. Set the tone and with Gaiser’s speed was just too much too handle. And the Boz broke it down like someone with actual street cred and it matches what I saw. Definitely not a Noel Rash D. But I’m just a Hot tub QB so what do I know? ?

Very strong statement considering the line play, and coaching, in ‘21 ‘22 back to back runs. And don’t forget an undefeated season in there. I mean no disrespect in what I’m saying but your statement is completely inaccurate IMO.

I keep reading the defense is an issue at Beechwood. Not fair in my eyes. IMO Problem is that most are grading these teams the last few years against what will probably be one of the best all time High School stretches of team defense in NKY history. The ‘21 & ‘22 teams were loaded on defense and possessed the ball with a punishing ground game on offense. Quite possibly their best asset on defense. They controlled the clock, did what they wanted. Quick scores, yes. But they ran the ball. They dominated controlling the ball. And the clock ran a lot with them. Different times with Rash gone. It’s a passing focused offense now from what I’ve seen. Quick scores still happen, but stop the clock. As do incompletions. Give these kids a chance to grow. Grade them against themselves in the Win columns. It’s a passing offense now, and an explosive one. Time will tell. That’s my take at least. ✌️ #GoBeechies

Gotta agree. Honest constructive feedback, It’s like listening to Dave Lapham call a Bengals game. Bottom line, love them and the broadcasts. Overall, great job. I truly Appreciate their time and what they do for us but the booth is crowded with 3 IMO. Just Too much for me for a HS broadcast. Great road win Beechies. Keep grinding and lockdown that defense. It’s hangs the banners. ?

That’s what I saw too. If he would have had any support the game might have been closer down the stretch. He was literally the ONLY Colonel inside the 3 pt line on numerous possessions in 4th qtr. It was baffling to watch.

Will be an interesting year for the Beechies. Year 2 will put the ? Rash era really in the rear view. Add to it the loss of legend and another ? Coach B and a new era will definitely begin. Looking forward to seeing the boys hang another banner. The talent is there. My key for the season is simple. Balance. Chics dig the long ball, it’s sexy. But the banners on the Gordon Hood Fieldhouse were mostly hung by ground and pound, dominating/punishing running games, which in turn controlled the time of possession, which enabled the defense to be fresh and to dominate the games. The explosiveness will still remain, at any moment, but restoring Balance is my key to another ring IMO. Also my dark horse breakout player is Bo Sowder. Heaven forbid an injury open that door but if so the All State Good Hands award will be on full display. Is it August yet? Let’s go!!!!

Harney led Beechwood as QB to I believe a 6-1 start as a freshman, against the hardest part of their schedule, and was pulled for an unproven QB at that time. With no time as QB1 in preseason. Fast forward 2 years and same damn thing could happen to the kid again? Crazy. Proven winner. How can you NOT start there?

Catching up on the thread over coffee and I’m literally reading Mayfield fans complaining about refereeing? Come on folks, don’t taint a good victory for you. It’s a bad light. And can’t believe folks are second guessing the coaching but my two cents on the OT or going for it. Ya gotta go for it. On the road at Mayfield? You got to. You just can’t throw an INT across the middle like that. Take the deep shots to the speedsters but can’t end on a play like that. Even if he hits an Beechie time then becomes a factor with how much real estate was left to go. INT aside Mayfield running game wins that in OT. Had to go for it. great game. Another classic. Lots of comments on here about this years Beechwoods D. While the amount of pts given up is an attention grabber it’s still Simple to me. We are spoiled. The past few years of BW teams on Defense absolutely spoiled everyone. They were arguably the best HS defensive unit 3 years running and have the hardware to prove it. Considering the size of classes (2A vs the world), and overall size of players, you witnessed greatness. Level set folks. The kids now are gonna be just fine and they have talent too. They are replacing many parts, a ? coach, have a new scheme, and just need some time. Keep rolling Tigers, and get well soon X!
