Covington Catholic comes into this one after a grueling win over Johnson Central 14-13. A blocked PAT proved to be the difference. If you had told me the final was 14-13, I'd have likely picked the Golden Eagles with the win, but the Covington Catholic defense came to play in this one. The Colonels were actually down 13-0 in this one. Cash Harney went deep to Oliver Link to set them up in scoring range, then the next play Cash ran it in for the score. He is the straw that stirs the drink for the Colonels. He has 1000+ rushing and passing, and his responsible for 28 touchdowns.

Boyle comes into this one in a clock runner over Letcher County Central 47-6, but in a game that saw the Rebels start off extremely slow. The defense didn't get off the field on a few big third downs and fourth downs, and the offense stalled out a few times in the first half while QB Murphy threw his first INT on the year. Definitely not the showing you want to have in the playoffs.

This is a rematch from the 4A state title game last year, but there's a lot of new faces for the colonels and the rebels in key positions. Who wins this one?

Hard to see this going well for Cov Cath, but will be a good measuring stick game for the program.

Boyle County played very sloppy last week. I don’t foresee them playing sloppy this week. Boyle County BIG!

Coach Haddix wasn't a happy Coach after the LCC game, I do think Boyle's Offensive and Defensive line got whooped in the first quarter and and part of second, I also think the DBs were  out of position. I don't see Coach Haddix letting that happen Friday night, and the Rebels will roll 42-14.

Break out the round balls CovCath, the 2024 party is over.

Agree it’s round ball time for Colonels.  Expect Colonels’ D to keep this game margin to two scores.

I think it will be closer to a running clock than two scores.

Wake up call for Boyle, but CC is no slouch.

38-10 Rebels.

Cov Cath offense will have to score more than 14 points to have a chance Friday night.

I agree, I think CCH will need at least 35 to have a chance.

I hope that the Colonels can make a game of it but I’ll be very surprised if they can. I think that Boyle likely rolls.

This comment right here.

I think the Cov Cath team from last year was better than this years team. I think Boyle’s team this year is better than last year team. Last year Boyle won 41-0. I expect the same if not worse. Prove me wrong Colonels. At least make it respectable and don’t get embarrassed.
