Come on man. Danville and Boyle County have long histories of football success. Google Titletown. Great football players come from all over this state. From Paducah to Pikeville. It's not the unexplainable mystery you seem to think it is. The schools have roughly the same number of boys, so not sure why being a suburb of Cincinnati has anything to do with it or why a team in the Bluegrass Region can't have great teams.

I got no issues with Danville or any other area of the state. Like I said, I’m just more amazed by the consistency of which Boyle just reloads. Even Covcath got down years from time to time.

CovCath will play hard and leave it all out on the field. The problem, though, is it just won't be enough. I am definitely going Boyle County, but I think it'll be a little closer than some may think.

Boyle County - 28

CovCath - 10

If CCH was in 5A they would already be out of the playoffs.

I am for doing away with districts and letting teams decide their own schedule.

Interesting idea...never considered that.  Outside Cov Cath's District play there are some good teams in 4A.  I still feel The Colonels (less Boyle) could beat anyone in 4 or 5A this year but the competition in 4A is stiff.  Boyle, Corbin, Franklin Co, PT and The Colonels all can make noise for a title but Boyle is just head and shoulders above everyone else (including 5A & 6A)!  I'd love to hear more about scrapping district play because some teams get killed in RPI for "have to play" games in their district.  Again, VERY interesting idea and I'd love to hear more. Good luck to all the NKY teams this week....Never know, Colonels might shock the state.  Fumble here, broken assignment there, big special teams play....ya never know! Good Luck to everyone.

Covington Catholic better open the offense up this time around, last year they ran QB power almost the whole game. That's not going to work against Boyle. I will say this, Boyle has had trouble with dual threat QBs. LCA Saxston Howard and Taylor County Jaquan Coulter both ran for over 100 yards on them this year.

Outside of their top guys, Quisenberry and Driver specifically, the thing that stood out most about playing Boyle last year was how well coached they were. Add Brown in there and they have 3 total studs and are really well coached. That explains beating Cleveland St Ed’s by 17 on the road.

If Cov Cath has this within 2 scores at half that would be a great effort and momentum for 2025 when hopefully things in 4A will be more open.

Current pole is 99-14 for Boyle County.  Didn’t we even have a thread that tracked the path for Boyle County to become #1 nationally?  I’m just suspecting the Colonels are going to show up in Danville Friday, not going to be intimidated and will be very competitive until late in the game when BC size becomes too much.  35-14 BC.

I agree completely. In 2025, with what we have coming back, the 4A crown will be (probably) more attainable than it has in years.

I think Eviston will probably have his best non-Mayer team next year with the guys coming back. For non Cov Cath followers, he’s been there since 2015 and 17-19 was when Michael Mayer was on the roster.

Highlands will also be very good and I assume Boyle will be too. The players need a big offseason and the coaches will need to be on their A game to win a title next year.

Cov Cath will be bigger than Boyle.

Interesting. So your opinion is CCH would beat BG, South Warren and Cooper this year? The competition is just as still in 5A if not more, minus Boyle of course.

Colonels gave Highlands all they wanted early in the season and I think EVERYONE would agree the 5A Title is wide open to all the schools you just mentioned there.  I do feel CCH would have just as good a shot, yes.  They have improved quite a bit since the season opener losses (both close games) against Ryle and Highlands, both of which could bring home state championships in 5A & 6A respectively.  It's all "what-if's" but outside Boyle, there's no clear line of delineation between 4A&5A.  I could say the same for Corbin & PT competing in 5A.  Not sure about Franklin Co (11-0 is impressive)...Do not know much about their squad.  Again, all just "what-if's" and speculation.

Once the State Title games conclude, maybe we can have the 3A, 4A, 5A & 6A state champs play one another for a true King of Kentucky!!  No disrespect to 1A & 2A if they wanna throw their hat in the ring, let's do it!!!

They were bigger last year.

I will be rooting hard for the Colonel upset.

Will have to play perfect, have a bit o luck and hope any errors can be capitalized on.

Hoping the spirit that will not die shows up and hard.
