Cov Cath is troubled early in the game by turnovers, falling behind 14-7 to Beechwood about 17 minutes into the game. But the Colonels tighten it up and score 35 unanswered points to win it 42-14 and slam the door shut.

I would have to think that doesn’t happen to Beechwood very often.

Like I said in the game thread, good effort by Beechwood but once CCH quit making mistakes it was all Colonels.  Beechwood is not on CovCath's level this year.

Fair assessment.  Regardless, this is a hallmark neighborhood rivalry and kudos to both schools for the commitment to keep it going. 

The line play on both sides of the ball for the Colonels was a clinic. Johnny Lind #57, a Junior OT and DE was a nightmare all night long on Defense. They had zero answer for Him. He had a far greater impact on the game by a country mile than Fryman did……and again, Fryman is an absolute stud no question or debate about it. Lind is on another level and next year will be a cheat code. Charlie Reeves the other DE straight played His butt off as well.

Beechwood returns a ton as does CCH with Dylan Courtney waiting in the wings to take over, but losing the majority of our skill players will make next years game very interesting. For now, the Colonels brought domination to Ft. Mitchell tonight and earned a win. Always a good game and great atmosphere and cannot wait until next year. Go Colonels!

- I don’t think Cov Cath punted the whole game. 

- Felt the big swings were Harney’s 70 yard TD run right before half and Brandon Smith’s pick as Beechwood was going in to tie it up in the 3rd. Brandon - welcome to the show. Harney is a pretty rare level of athlete walking the halls in Park Hills. 

- I really liked the offensive gameplan and feel like the Cov Cath coaching staff has significantly improved in the last few years. 

- Fryman has a ton of ability, I hope he sticks with football as long as he can. 

- If Cov Cath keeps turning the ball over like they have been they will lose to Highlands, Cathedral and in the playoffs.  If they play clean, they have a real good shot. 

Not sure if Beechwood knows it or not but a true 40 front is 4 defensive lineman, not 3 lineman and a backer. 2nd year in a row of that crap. Fryman making about every tackle from safety is ridiculous. Beechwood gets out-coached once again.

I actually thought Reeves made more plays tonight than Lind. Lind made an impact early in the game then after that I heard Reeves name called more than Lind. But have to give credit to CCH defensive backs. They did a nice job making it tough for Beechwood's receivers to get clear quick and then that gave the CCH linemen time to get to Queen.

Brandon Smith is CCH's next big time player. He will go top level D1 somewhere. I was very impressed with him tonight. 

The other CCH player that doesn't get notoriety that impressed me tonight was Sanning. Very strong running the ball and made a lot of plays on defense. 

As to CCH's title chances, I think they need to work on the passing game. They really didn't need to throw the ball tonight, but the times they did it just doesn't click. The most effective thing in their passing game is Harney getting room to scramble. They will need that passing game when they get deeper in the playoffs and face teams that can force them to throw more. 

As for Beechwood going forward, thank you to CCH. This game always pays dividends for Beechwood in showing what they need to do to win another title. It was a 21-14 game in the middle of Q3 and the Tigers were driving to tie it up. That is when the pass was batted into the air by a lineman and Brandon Smith intercepted it. It was still 21-14 going into the 4th quarter but the 4th quarter was all CCH.

Watched via YouTube (great job Talley and Murph!). Beechwood had control of this game early. But way too fancy on offense and honestly don’t know what the sets were on defense. Run the ball, control the clock, and play good defense. It’s just one game and the Beechies will bounce back, but there is now tape out there that other 2A schools will use……

Don’t worry Beechwood folks. You guys will win another 2A title this year. I feel like you go 14-1 every year with the one loss being to CCH.

I don't know, there are some very good 2A teams this year.
